Always solid and well crafted. Food was delicious and bountiful. Nice setting and gracious service. Very consistent and great neighborhood place

Overall good expert. Nice Belgian beers selection and nice Belgian menu. One caveat: the mussels were not great. Sauce was great but mussels were small and undercooked.

To start off: I am a Belgian. However, I have been living in the US for 10 years without having tasted some proper Belgian dishes. Hence my visit to B. Cafe. Positives: great selection of beers. Stew (stoverij) was delicious and authentic. No saving on white wine in the sauce with the mussels. :) Price is fair. Outdoor seating is nice in summer. Negatives: service was cold, transactional. Although I speak Flemish/Dutch, none of the permanent staff, including the manager, picked up on my language or my name on the reservation, which is a clear giveaway. The temporary student, however, immediately picked up on these, and conversed with me in Flemish, which was music to my ears, and made me feel somewhat home. The student was warm and welcoming in contrast to the rest of the staff. The vol au vent was too liquid, and the pastry is supposed to be larger and a cylinder in which you pour the rest of the dish. However, B. Cafe chose the easy option of a simple, small square of pastry. Disappointing. The mussels were the biggest disappointment, since these are the easiest to prepare: the vast majority were undercooked resulting in ripping the mussels in half each time we pried the shell open, which should not be the case to begin with. The interior is not inspirational and boring with only displays of (placards of) beers. More creativity would be welcome. Here are some tips: pictures of the royal family, pictures/paintings of the many amazing buildings in many Belgian cities, old placards of old commercials. Anyway, unfortunately, I am not returning to B. Cafe, and I left with disappointment. I had more fun at Kafana, which is a Serbian restaurant, which my wife confirmed is authentic (she is Serbian ;).

The interior shows careful planning. The quality never wavers and the staff always welcomes you. Additionally, team members showed warm attitudes and flexibility. The dishes deliver reliable results. Although crowded, my experience was pleasant with plenty of food.

B. Cafe is a nice local restaurant where you can get good food with very good service at moderate prices. It is comfortable and welcoming and we enjoyed brunch there. Our only complaint was that we were sitting in the lovely back garden at a table near the back wall and there were lots of ants running around on the wall, literally inches away from our table. We will return to B. Cafe but will sit inside!

Wonderful neighborhood spot for dinner with Belgian classics, a charming back yard and attentive service.

I've sampled widely from their menu and it's all worthwhile. Their plates provide plenty at prices that work. Their dishes tell you everything about their standards. Every staff member exhibited real kindness also. This place is fantastic and worth telling others about!

Came here for the first time. They have a nice garden for sitting. I ordered tuna tartare and mussels cooked in white wine and tomato sauce with a side of fries.

The tuna tartare was fresh, and had layers of chopped tomatoes and avocado. However, the sauce was a bit bland. It was just plain soy sauce. It was a bit too salty, too. The freshly grinned pepper helped, but not a whole lot. In addition, they should really pay more attention to the tuna, I found quite a few of tendons/ligaments that weren’t removed. It was hard to chew.

The mussels were nice, but I don’t quite understand the concept of sliced carrots in it until I tasted the broth. It did help building the layers of the sauce. Most of the mussels were nice, and only a few of them didn’t look so healthy. The fries were alright. It was a bit soft and soggy. I’d have liked it a lot more if they were crispier. The sauce for the fries were nice, though. I was also a bit confused when there was no bread until the very end when I was basically eating the soup with the big spoon. A server asked me if I’d like some bread. It was much better with the bread.

Overall, it was a nice meal, but I was expecting more. I’ll probably come by again when I’m in the neighborhood.

We ordered only appetizers and beer, beer never arrived, really poor service. Would recommend other places in the area with better service

the food at B Cafe is always good; however, the portion size has decreased significantly. I always used to have enough food to take home leftovers and now it is barely a reasonable portion. It is very disappointing.

Lovely outdoor area that was not noisy. Good food and attentive service. But the menus need to be cleaned; we were a party of six and several of them were dirty.

Two of our seven orders were wrong (despite the waiter writing everything down). One order was incorrect twice. Service used to be much better.

We had a delicious, quiet lunch in their outdoor dining area in the back. It was beautiful clean and cool. The food was delicious. Try the B burger! Our waiter was excellent.

A trip to Belgium without the worry of TSA and trying to find space in the overhead economy bin. An extensive beer menu as flavorful as the beef stew, quiet atmosphere with attentive service make B Café a UES gem that we all hope continues to shine for many more years!

Waiter was great. Food and ambience were good. Quiet since we were virtually the only ones there around lunchtime. I would gladly return. M
