Last year our experience was mediocre. This year it was top notch! The service was professional. The menu selections have changed and were inventively prepared and presented. The butter chicken was back to its high standards! And the chocolate date cake was an excellent surprise! The Baar Baar we originally went to years ago has returned!

Booked the place for valentines day - place was cramped up and literally I would not plan a dinner there for any major events. The appetizer was amazing and server was kind and keeping everyone patient. Think they had overbooked so it was like business over quality and service. We plan to be back when there is no major event so we can really enjoy the place. The DJ who was signing was amazing and the best thing for the day.

We made our choice to go because Baar Baar stated online that it was participating in restaurant week. We arrived to discover that was not so; that the only menu available was a very limited ‘ brunch' of 3 entree choices. Our waiter clearly told us that he would honor an a la carte price for our two entrees but when the bill came he had charged us the prix fixe of $45/pp. He then had the gall to become indignant when I mentioned the overcharge. He spoke perfect english so language was not the issue. After enduring a long and noisy live musical performance, we were quite ready to write it off. While I love to be spontaneous and embrace surprise moments in nyc, this was just a typical bait and switch.

First time hosting a holiday party here for SAJA, the South Asian Journalists Association. Excellent atmosphere, food (veg and non-veg apps) and cash bar. They gave us space in the bar area for 30-40 people and we had a great time. Thank you!
