This intimate dining experience was full of Flavor and Hospitality The staff were attentive, yet not intrusive, making several suggestions that turned out to be delicious The Bollywood music 🎶 was a nice touch, Indian House music Loved it

Food was good, great atmosphere the water spilled water in my table and didn't wipe it up the entire stay, wasn't as attentive to our table as he was to others but the dessert was tasty do not recall the name.

A delicious meal for start to finish. A bit more upscale than most of the other Indian restaurants.

Excellent Indian food in an upscale and pleasant environment. Waiting for their sidewalk scaffolding to come down though. ..

I was surprised to be able to enter the kitchen and see something that left me with a bad experience because since the people who call themselves chefs are not, the food with cockroaches in the pans does not wash their hands after going to the bathroom, cleaning their needs maybe health could be made to do a strong in-depth inspection that restaurant is a disease bomb

Originally went based off of what I knew about their old menu but the Kofta was phenomenal. Everything else was alright.

Baazi have changed the decor several times over the years, not knowing whether it’s a restaurant or club. The music is quite loud and not appropriate. It’s poorly run, the owner have no clue in what he wants for this business. The staff is overwhelmed
with lots of turnovers. I have been going there since it has been opened annd various name changes. I also frequently went to the other location on the East side. I can assure you this, I will never go back there. Over the years we overlooked their dysfunction and after getting sick from the uncooked chicken October 2024. I am done! It’s the owner’s fault for not running his restaurant and leaving it up to o the employees. They forgot to put the chicken dish in my bag which I picked up. I was furious, the girl who’s always there apologized and the chef will cook my dish which came out 5 mins later. The chef didn’t cook the chicken well. I threw out the leftover food after getting severely sick vomiting all night long.

The picture does not give this spectacular dish justice! I ordered their lamb vindaloo which came in a special pot with a dough/bread covering the top. Best I Indian dish I have ever had.
I believe we tasted every appetizer one was better than the next. We gobbled it up before pictures were thought of!

Walked in on a Sunday evening for dinner - our first time in our neighborhood Indian place. We wanted to find out our go-to Indian restaurant and were hoping Baazi would hit the spot. Unfortunately it did not!

Service however was pretty good and they have a very friendly staff. We got two glasses of wine and ordered Paneer Ke Sholey ($16), Amritsari Fish ($17) - which was absolutely excellent, 2-day Dal Makhani ($19) - their website has a typo in the price and this is not for $29!

Food came within 20 minutes of ordering and the Paneer Ke Sholey was presented in a very nice way! Might visit again for the convenience of location and friendly staff.

Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly 😎

Bazee presents an underwhelming experience that falls short of expectations, particularly given its price point in New York City's competitive Indian dining scene.

Food Quality & Authenticity (★★★) :
The restaurant's main shortcoming lies in its culinary execution. The flavors lack the depth and authenticity one would expect from an Indian establishment, especially considering the premium pricing. While the dishes are passable, they don't deliver the robust, genuine Indian taste profiles that justify their cost.

Menu Accuracy (★★):
A concerning issue arose with menu accuracy. We encountered a situation where a dish contained cheese that wasn't mentioned in the description. While the staff handled the situation professionally by offering a replacement, such oversights in menu descriptions can be problematic, especially for diners with dietary restrictions or preferences. This indicates a need for better menu oversight and transparency.

Service & Staff (★★★★):
The bright spot of our experience was the service. Despite the busy atmosphere, the staff maintained a friendly and accommodating demeanor. Their handling of the menu discrepancy was particularly commendable, demonstrating good customer service ethics and a willingness to rectify mistakes promptly.

Ambience & Maintenance (★★½):
While the restaurant enjoys healthy patronage, suggesting its popularity, the maintenance standards could use improvement. The busy environment is expected in New York, but better attention to upkeep would enhance the dining experience and better align with their pricing structure.

Value for Money (★★):
Given the premium pricing, the overall experience falls short of expectations. While service quality partially compensates, the combination of inauthentic flavors and maintenance issues makes it difficult to justify the cost.

Verdict:
While Bazee has potential, particularly in its service standards, several areas need improvement to justify its pricing and position in New York's competitive Indian cuisine market.

Pros:
- Friendly and accommodating staff
- Good service recovery when issues arise
- Popular and lively atmosphere

Cons:
- Lack of authentic Indian flavors
- Menu accuracy issues
- Maintenance needs attention
- Questionable value for money

The food was tasty, though the protein portions are small for the price paid ($16 small plate came with 4 pieces of shrimp; $18 large plate had maybe the meat of a small chicken thigh), so we were left wanting. Also, the meals don't come with rice and/or naan, that's a separate order/charge. Just feels stingy.

The service was not good, and at one point the waitstaff was not making eye contact as they cleared and prepped multiple tables near us that I feel they were either negligent or incompetent. Lastly, i ordered a drink and they didn't have the menu ingredient (basil) so they substituted something else (mint) without asking. They replaced the drink when I mentioned it.

Lastly, this isn't totally the restaurant's fault but they could've discouraged the patron from noisily going through their mail (shuffling papers and opening items).

Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian (but not necessarily vegan options).

Wheelchair accessibility: Not very accessible, there are stairs at the main entrance.

The food is good, but not worth the lack of sanitary habits from the staff. I watched a server sneeze in her hand while making a drink, then use her hands to put a slice of lime in the drink. I also watched her touch everything in the restaurant and clean tables with the same bare hands she was using to make the drinks. The last straw was watching a server refill a half-empty carafe of water left over from one table and serve it to another. Pretty gross.

It was also kind of annoying that the staff allows delivery folks to watch tv and talk on their phones (on speaker phone) with no headphones. It’s a small restaurant, so it kills the vibe.
