I was visiting and asked someone on the street where I could grab a bagel and they directed me to Bagel Bob’s. So thankful they did. Best bagels, incredible people, generous friendly caring family people. They greeted me warmly every day, remembered what we talked about the day before, asked about my day and seemed genuinely interested. This was my first solo trip and they made me feel right at home. And a beautiful plant showed up on my last day which was lovely. I’ll definitely be staying in this neighborhood the next time I’m visiting but daily breakfast here just isn’t enough. I’m about to get a bagel sandwich to take to the airport with me with the homemade black and white they generously gave me on the house. Top notch place food and people. You won’t regret the trip here.

Great service and a pretty decent bagel. They don’t check student ID and you can get a 10% NYU discount if you look the part. I paid around $17 for a lox bagel with added toppings (tomato, capers, and red onions) but just the lox and bread is around $13. They have around four bar stools so this is definitely a take out spot even though I did dine in solo.

Every neighborhood in this partisan city has its best place that makes bagels fresh all day and serves them with cream cheese, lox, or whitefish. This is that place for Greenwich Village. The bagel has gorgeous texture and there’s always something hot—straight out of the oven. This isn’t just round bread, this is a proper NYC bagel. Live dangerously: Get the pumpernickel.
