One of the best Arabic restaurants in Manhattan, this Lebanese spot offers fresh, healthy, and delicious food. The flavors are authentic, and the ingredients taste incredibly fresh. The menu has a great variety of traditional Lebanese dishes, from mezze to grilled meats, all prepared with care.

I called and asked if it was "Zabiha halal", the woman who answered said they are halal but did not use the word Zabiha. In fact she seemed annoyed at my question. Muslims be careful because no where does it say halal. OR Maybe I missed the sign? But I checked and dont remember seeing it verified. So are they those that think if you say Bismillah it's halal or actually Zabiha Halal certified? Halal is too loose of a buzz word nowadays. Sad because the food is good but I only eat Zabiha so idk.

Consistent, good value spot for Lebanese grab and go bowls.
The seating situation isn’t the best but is fine if you’re taking it to go.

The chicken shawarma tasted good but small portion, the salad and brown rise tasted good, the babaganus sauce was bad I threw it away. I bought a small bottle of water that tasted like plastic, it was Balade water. Generally the quality was so and so.

The staff has always been kind to me, the garlic whip is the best topping and they are almost never out of it. I been going there for years now and it’s always been a good and fast option for food.

Im typically very reticent to post negative reviews, but i was severely disappointed by the quality of my meal at balade. I ordered a chicken shish taouk salad with baba ghanoush. Shish taouk and baba ghanoush are two of my favorite items at any middle eastern fare, however, the chicken taouk was so dry/overcooked and gristle-y, i really had to force it down, and the baba ghanoush tasted like it had either been smoked too long, or used a cheap liquid smoke substitute that made it inedible as well. The toum, veggies pickles, were all well done, and the lahmacun was pretty tasty as well, but the two stars of my meal were near inedible. Not sure if its quality control or just an off day, but id hoped to find better arab food in NYC of all places!
