Outstanding! The steaks are some of the best in town. Platitos were exceptional and the octopus was perfection. Solid wine list. Really nice place too. Service was excellent and very friendly team. Going back for sure!

The food was top-notch: The Angosto steak was perfectly cooked and so flavorful. Don't skip the empanadas or the fresh beetroot salad.

We had dinner for 4 last night and it was a delightful experience. The food was excellent all around (skirt steak; chicken Milanese; all of the appetizers we had). We loved the very simple, unfussy decor and the fact that it is windowed on both sides along the street. It has a bistro feel. The service is attentive without that "looming" feeling. Great evening!

We have two favorite restaurants in NYC: Le Bernadin and Balvanera. That pretty much says it all. Specifically, Balvanera has excellent food, a super welcoming and wise staff, a lively atmosphere but you can still hold a conversation, a lovely setting, a fine wine list, and great value for the price. We return again and again and again.

I always am delighted to be dining at Balvanera. Everyone who works there has a great attitude and works very hard. The food is delicious! When the restaurant got crowded with a lot of big parties it was very loud and the service slowed down -- and no one came to check on our table once we had our meals...luckily, we had what we needed and were very happy, but it would have been nice to have been "checked on". That said, I will always return because the food is delicious and it's a friendly, lively place. The manager and sommalier Nico is fantastic. Knowlegable and kind.

Celebrated our daughter's birthday this past Saturday night. Service could not have been more attentive, food could not have been more succulent. We have visited this restaurant a number of times as we visit from Washington and are treated as old friends each time we do. We picked from among the Argentinian steaks on the menu and were and were rewarded for doing so. Ambiance is always warm and welcoming. Balvanera must be on your list!

Delightful! Despite my limited knowledge of wines and meats, the staff guided me perfectly to one of the best dinners I’ve ever had. Everything was excellent — top to bottom. Perhaps just a bit more attention to the outdoor tables, as service there can take a little longer, but overall, absolutely outstanding experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
