Bánh Mì Cô Út brings real Saigon street flavors to New York. The baguette is perfectly crisp outside and airy inside, packed with layers of savory pâté, cold cuts, and fresh pickled veggies.

The food smelled so great at the door. My friends and I were very much look forward to trying the banh mi here. That is until we saw the entire carton of fresh baked rolls fell on the sidewalk. Then we watched shop people picked up fallen rolls, put them back into the carton, brought them to the kitchen, as if nothing has happened to these rolls.
Our appetite disappeared immediately. We left with some uneasiness in our stomachs

Just got back from Vietnam and it’s been disappointing looking for all the amazing tastes locally.
Got the #1 and first bite was POW, I’m back in Hanoi having my first Bahn mi. The flavor is really complex and subtle. Pate was great consistency and the glue to pair all the different meats and flavors together.
But the star of the show was the bread. It didn’t bunch up and become cardboard after a few bites. It stayed flaky, light and airy throughout. Definitely fresh bread just like in Vietnam.
Was leaving and I saw they had a special with sticky rice, pate and other meats and thought I tried. It is soooo good. The preserved vegetables in the meat is like a drug. So delicious.
No indoor seating or restroom, cash only no frill joint. Those are my favorite. Service was friendly and to the point. Place was clean and spotless. Definitely going and heard they have a sister restaurant which is next on my list.

Super super good banh mi. I got the 5 spice pork which was very fresh and had a depth of flavor not found at most other Thai restaurants that offer banh mi - and much less expensive. Strong recommend for cheap fresh eats in the neighborhood
