I chose Bar Hugo for 4th of July fireworks viewing and ended up being quite happy with my choice. Th calamari was tasty in spite of a short wait which was communicated well with the reason for delay. The staff explained the direction of fireworks but some of us were still confused, and that might be on us. We thought we would get a distant view of Macy’s fireworks on the east river because we hadn’t been there before. The display was another legal set of fireworks going off...
Great location & atmosphere. The views from the rooftop are beautiful. The only minus is it's not the biggest space so it gets filled up very fast especially on Friday evenings & weekends. But overall it's really fun spot.

The service unfortunately did not meet our expectations. We waited approx. 20 min to order drinks, while every other table was served. We finally went to the bar ourselves and ordered drinks. Staff seemed a bit stressed and did not offer any smiles on a rather calm Monday evening.
