Wonderful dining experience with lovely Italian cuisine!! We were welcomed in by such friendly staff who took great care of us during our lunch! The gnocchi was pillowy and melted in your mouth and was to die for with the gooey cheese sauce! Would def come here again. Very classy and elegant decor and ambiance.

Absolutely delicious food! The atmosphere is chic, sexy, always happening with a buzz in the air. They always make room for you! Chef Denis is an artist and his team delivers white glove service. The best! My must go every time I visit Manhattan.Vegetarian options: Just tell your water and Chef Denis will take care of you! Promise! ???

If I could give Bar Italia 6 stars on Google reviews, I would because this place is fantastic. From the service to the quality and taste of everything we tried, Bar Italia knocked it out of the park. Starting with the service, the entire staff was excellent - they offered to check our bags/coats when we arrived and were extremely friend and attentive throughout the evening without being overbearing, as an added bonus/nice touch, the owner/chef was also out interacting with guests on a few occasions. The food was exceptional. We tried several things - burrata caprese, a red wine/tomato sausage rigatoni, veal milanese, and the branzino, finished off with the key lime pie and mixed ice cream. Everything was excellent but I think my favorites were the pasta dish and the branzino. The ice cream is also made in-house and was so delicious.Bar Italia isn’t cheap but it is absolutely quality in every aspect and you get what you pay for here. Can’t wait to come back!
Why is this restaurant still in the neighborhood?I will start by saying the front-of-house service was excellent. But the food left all four of us disappointed and still hungry.The “tonno” salad tasted like tunafish from a can with corn mixed in ($30). The bolognese pasta was mediocre. The branzino was fine but not extraordinary. At this price point, I would recommend the dependable Elio’s on 84th. Will never come back here again, despite the convenient location.

Husband and I picked this spot after spending time in the park as a date night. Ordered a bottle of wine and a couple appetizers. The owner talked with us and he was a delight. The chef brought us the most delicous key lime cake I've ever had. The atmosphere was wonderful, food excellent, and inviting. Would dine again any day! It was Sunday around 4pm so it was slower, we were the only ones in restaurants for most of the time.
