Great neighborhood restaurant. Very nice easy French menu, nice service and good drinks.
It's a bit disappointing when the service doesn't match the quality of the food. While the dishes might be decent and satisfying, a slow and inattentive staff can really affect the overall dining experience. It’s frustrating to wait longer than expected for orders or to feel like you’re not being looked after, especially when you're hungry or in a rush.
In such situations, I try to be patient and understanding, knowing that restaurants can have off days. However, it would definitely enhance the experience if the staff were more attentive, checking in regularly and ensuring that everything is going smoothly.

I loved the drinks and appetizers but hated my main (chicken pie - beestya or something) wasn’t great. Very dry chicken. The other person in our party that got it also wasn’t a fan. The chicken needs to be better seasoned

Not a lot of decent bars in the area, and the bar here is small but otherwise fits the bill: bartender was professional, draft beers were perfectly cold on a hot muggy day. It's a French Bistro-type setting, which isn't my usual preference, but I'm def coming back next time I'm thirsty in this nabe.

Classic old bistro in Chelsea. French Moroccan flair to the menu.
Don’t go here if you want mediocre food masquerading as French food. Nothing authentically French about this place. The tomato fennel soup I had tasted like puréed tomatoes from can with added sugar; the skate, though nicely browned, was over salted, and the mashed potatoes tasted like it came from an instant mix. Then, they almost forgot about my dessert that came as part of the prix fixe. At least the sorbet was edible, if not somewhat tasty. I’d only return there for a drink and dessert, nothing more.
Burger was ok. Service was great and so was the atmosphere. I have had many fun nights here
I left a 10% tip and was then aggressively confronted and attacked by the manager at my table in front of everybody for not leaving more. Service was extremely unfriendly, unwelcoming, and disinterested. Food is average and is overpriced. Give it a miss unless you are prepared to leave a big tip for a below average experience.

My wife and I go here often. We get the artichoke and then the chicken tagine. The chicken tagine is truly amazing. Add a dirty martini and you have an amazing dinner.

The burger is not grass fed. Although the menu doesn’t say it is, the waitress assured me that it was. Let’s just say my gut does NOT respond well (for days) when I eat grain fed beef. Perhaps she confused the burger with the steaks, which apparently are grass fed. Either way, she caused me a couple of days of discomfort. Also, the bread they use in French onion soup is lame. Everything else was good.

I’m sad to post this review. I have been going here since 2003, when I was a medical resident at St Vincent’s. Management has changed and John is absolutely he worst for customer loyalty. This used to be a trusted, local place. Crazy story- my husband to be lived 2 blocks away from me on 13th st when I was a resident and we both went to this bar, unbeknownst of each other. Now we tried to come with our kids, after knowing Rosie and others for several years, and we were dismissed without a thought. Disrespect.

Great food & service! Stopped in a couple weeks ago for a turkey burger and it did not disappoint. Great tasting tea and food with a cozy atmosphere. Would absolutely love to come back if I am ever in the area again! Check came with a cute postcard as well to commemorate my visit!
