We enjoyed our anniversary dinner there we had veal pasta with pesto braised beef i had lamb and cream brulee the staff was professional and attentive
From the food to the atmosphere and most definitely to the service, we loved our experience here! We were dressed for Masquerade so we wanted an upscale location to dine before the show. This was perfect! The staff was so kind and attentive and our food and drinks were outstanding!
Service was very attentive; could not have been better. We went before a show and they offered both the regular menu and the theater menu. The steak was good but the braised beef was just ok. I loved my pasta appetizer. The room is a little weird. We won't be going back.
Our return trip was another exceptional experience. From the attentive staff and service to the quality of ingredients used and the well curated menu selection. Our group of 6 included a few people who grew up with their own Italian family recipes and they were delighted with the menu choices. From soups through to desserts, each dish was thoughtfully prepared and presented. The ambiance added to the enjoyment of this night out. Having visited in each season, spring, summer, winter and fall, you will find something charming and delicious whenever you go.
Very nice evening at Barbetta. Such a historic and interesting setting. Food was very good, and the prix fixe menu was perfect. Staff was attentive. Worth a visit.
The ambience was nice, low lighting, vintage wine bottles, live music downstairs. However, the food was extremely mediocre. I guess it's a good deal for the pre-theater dinner for $65, but still, food was barely worth that. Then we got absolutely screwed with the bar bill. Charged $90 for a glass of prosecco, a glass of red wine, and a coffee. On top of that, the wait staff all seem like they would rather be doing anything else. Grumpy, rushed us, and not welcoming at all. Overall, it was a convenient dinner prior to a show, but I would never pay $300 for that again.
This is the classic Northern Italian New York restaurant. We have been coming here for many years, and it combines old world charm with great food and exquisite service
Nicely Italian rather than Italian-American, focused on Piemonte. We had swordfish on lentils, beef in Barolo, peppers in bagna cauda, baked apples for dessert, all home-style but very well-prepared. In other words, wide selection not limited to pasta, pizza, parm. Only drawback was only six tables occupied on Friday night in huge dining room, so bring your own fun.
It was “fine”. Not sure I would go back. Besides the old decor it wasn't special. Food was average and expensive. Waiters were strict and not personable 🤷🏻♀️. Not my fave
We were particularly looking for a Northern Italian restaurant and Barbetta fit the bill! The food and service were impeccable, and the elegant decor set the mood. This will be a routine stop on our visits to New York.

Just as wonderful as it has been for the 50+ years I've dined there. A true classic -- the most beautiful and romantic dining room, with it's outdoor garden and elegant surroundings -- that one can find in Manhattan. Service in the old style -- trust the Captain to offer and recommend outstanding choices. Food was exquisitely prepared and delicious. Highly recommended.

Went here after I proposed to my now fiancé before we went to a show. We were running late and not only did they get all of our food out fast to accommodate us it was absolutely fantastic! The best part is the service though. They treat you like family. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great dinner spot before a show

Great dinner at Barbetta. We had the Sea Bass and the Crabmeat in Sherry. We shared the peppers and a walnut cake. everything was delicious. Such a lovely dining experience.
It was pricey for the pris fix pre theater dinner, but the ambiance is nice and it is in the theater district so it's convenient. There are, at least, a number of options on the dinner menu, so most people should be able to find something they like,
I'm not gonna lie, that roasted rabbit is very good a unique flavor in the menu. I always something different to eat.
