Dining in the outdoor garden at Barbetta's was a lovely relief and oasis in the midst of the Theatre District.

You should definitely opt to sit in the garden. They don't play any music, so it's eerily silent inside.

Barbetta's was delicious and delightful! The staff is attentive, friendly and professional. The staff will make recommendations when asked. Barbetta's had a restaurant week menu which was wonderful and wonderfully priced. The decor is charming, lovely and old world...crystal chandeliers, a flowery plant and a small lamp on every table and white linens. And, it is quiet!!! You can have a conversation!!

Delightful experience with the pre-theatre menu. Good, solid service. Slightly dated decor, but very comfortable and charming. Will go again.

Eating in Barbetta's garden area reminds me of finding a really nice hideaway restaurant in Europe. It's quiet and surrounded by trees and shrubs that provide shade and coolness. The staff is attentive and the food is excellent. One of my favorite getaway spots in the city.

I really wouldn’t recommend this place. Unfortunately it is beautiful, but very… musty… and it was empty on a Friday night, we should’ve been warned. The food was terrible and flavorless. Don’t waste your money here please!!

The service was not good, and everything was rushed. It feels like the waiters were standing there waiting for your leave. And they added a 20% tip on the receipt themselves! Definitely won't go again

Old style Italian restaurant with Victorian era decor that looks like it hasn't been updated since 1981, which is the current year according to the sign on the door indicating how long the restaurant has been there. We came for pre-theater dinner and ordered from the restaurant week menu which at $45/person was only a good deal if you planned to order both an appetizer and dessert. The roasted pepper with anchovy paste appetizer was good, but not great. The chicken paillard was dull and the mouse dessert was uninspired.

Food was solid and service was good but the place has seen better days. There’s evidence that it used to be a fine dining establishment but it feels run down and musty, and pricier than other pre-theater spots nearby.

The restaurant was extremely hot. We asked why and the front host said “the front entrance doors open and close often and lets in the hot air”. We were visibly sweating and fanning ourselves with menus as were several other tables. Overheard a guest at another table ask why it was so hot and their SERVER said “our air conditioning is broken.” Being told an “untruth” in addition to the service and food was not up to par, we definitely would not choose to return on our next trip to New York City.

Thoughtfully, perfectly-seasoned food served in Old World elegance. The waiters are practiced at getting you to your Broadway show on time, efficient and polite. A truly wonderful experience.

One of the best places I have ever visited and enjoyed. Everyone on staff from hostess to gentlemen who refill your water glass were professional and made you feel warm and comfortable. Ramon our waiter was outstanding.
