Chile shrimp dish was just perfect. Spicy corn side was sooooo tasty. Crispy potato noodles were wonderful and sauce side was perfect compliment. 10/10!!!!!

Always reliable with availability and it's on seated! Don't miss out on that cash back. I haven't been back in a few years but it's just as I remember it, modern, a bit sexy, and a bit pricey. But it's reliable and good food. We opted for the classic uni bibimbap and the pork belly. Both dishes were exactly what we wanted, a bit of fried rice but not too heavy with some pork belly. The bibimbap could have used a tad more citrus and salt but otherwise very good. The pork belly was spectacular. The fried pork rinds otherwise known as the skin was a nice surprise. Wasn't expecting that bit of fusion. And the pork belly itself - no complaints. We could have used a bit more salad but otherwise this is executed to perfection. We were in and out of there pretty quickly but we enjoyed our time.

We had a satisfactory experience at Barn joo. The food was good but nothing extraordinary. Felt the taste could have been better. The dishes served were not warm enough. The seafood scallion pancakes had only calamari flavour and we didn't find much depth in the flavours. The chicken wings and the bao buns were good. Enjoyed the sizzling stone bowl bibimbap. The chocolate cube dessert was average and didn't have a good taste. The service and the ambience of the restaurant was friendly and nice which made up for the underwhelming experience with the food.

It's been many many years since I was last at Barn Joo, and I was pleased to see that they are still flourishing! We stopped by on a Saturday evening with no reservation (around 7pm) and we were able to get a table. We weren't super hungry so my husband and I shared 2 appetizers and an entree (but then we also shared a dessert so maybe we were hungry after all...?!) Appetizers- get the Crunchy Tofu and Bulgogi Spicy Rice Cake! Both are insanely good- the tofu came with a caramelized kimchi that added another layer of spice and fermented goodness. It was really satisfying to eat. The spicy rice cakes with bulgogi- you know it's going to be good! The vegetables (slice of kabocha, and onions and peppers) added some nice veggie sweetness to this dish. For our entree, we shared the "NY Bites"- it's a platter of kalbi slices, potatoes, sticks of crunchy sweet potato, sautéed mushrooms and vegetables. You can try everything individually or pair them up for different flavors. Very good, we finished the entire plate. For dessert, we got the bourbon bread pudding. I'm not a huge fan of bourbon flavor so we asked if we could get the bourbon sauce on the side, but unfortunately they weren't able to do it. However, the bourbon flavor wasn't that super strong so it was fine- the caramel-y ice cream's flavor was so strong, so I wasn't too bothered by the bourbon. I think this was the best bread pudding I've ever had. Service was attentive!

The restaurant has freshly prepared food and fast services. The relax setting is good for informal gatherings.

It's been a while since I've been to Barn Joo but remember thoroughly enjoying the food. Found the atmosphere comfy , however the volume of noise was not for me - it was tough hearing my fellow diners.

I think Barn Joo is a consistently good place, although I think there are other spots that are better for the price you pay. Nonetheless, solid KBBQ. The meat set comes with different cuts that gives you a nice traversal of the different textures of beef - it's a nice casual experience for anyone craving KBBQ but doesn't have a reservation to Nubiani or the money for COTE. I really like their appetizers though - the batter and crispiness of the Tofu and Fries (fries are fried in a really tasty oil but idk what oil they use) are almost to die for. Ice cream is passable in my opinion. One thing to note, Barn Joo is just fun vibes. When you enter you get to spin a wheel that could net you and the table a free drink or such!

I typically stop by for happy hour, thinking it lasted till 7, but it's actually till 6 pm on weekdays. I used to frequent this place after work, but recent price increases have made it a no-go for me. I can't justify spending over $17 for a drink, especially considering the steep food prices. The service is good tho.

Food was amazing and really fun atmosphere. Because we made reservation online we were able to spin a wheel and won free truffle fries! Anthony was our server and he was a delight. Definitely will be coming back again!

Great food. Had 24 oysters, some cocktails and sashimi along with some other dishes. All food was fresh and delicious. Anthony, our waitor, made the experience amazing. Very welcoming and attentive. Truly goes above and beyond. I highly recommend this Korean BBQ restaurant.

My husband and I went here for our shared birthday. The staff catered to our special occasion literally from the door. Once we mentioned it, we were welcomed even more warmly. They sang to us and brought us dessert. We didn't expect such a friendly experience. We had the actual Korean BBQ. At first, we thought it wouldn't be filling, but with the all you can eat sides, you certainly come out very, very satisfied. The meats are so tender. Everything is so fresh and well-seasoned! And the alcoholic drinks were so yummy and balanced (probably too yummy, Lol). Anyways, overall satisfying experience. A must-try for Korean BBQ, for sure.

I recently visited Barn Joo in Union Square - the atmosphere was vibrant and energetic, with a cool industrial-chic decor featuring exposed brick walls and warm wood accents. The bar is really nice to look at. Our server made sure to stop by often but I can't say that was very productive. My biggest gripe with Barn Joo is that I simply cannot recommend them anymore with their new prices. They'll run you $25 for spicy dukbokki or $16 for 6 of the smallest wings I have ever had in a Korean restaurant. Is the food good? Yes. But you know what else is good? Choosing among the delicious restaurants just 1 stop away at ktown. I don't think I'll be coming back without a good reason.
