The bread served was terrible. No excuse for that. Very pleasant service. Attractive decor. Food was disappointing.

Service and food were very poor. will not return here
Just an honest opinion about Sunday brunch special. I didn’t expect much for a pre-fix menu of ~42$, but would never comeback even for dinner. The food was awful to my liking!
Pre-set on the table was a basket with bread (fresh +) and a plate with few pieces of Parmesan cheese, 3 olives in olive oil, 1 orange and 1 vein of grape’s. No honey or butter.
First salad/first course was just some old salad leaves with olive oil, nothing else. Caesar salad came next with mayo based garlic sauce, pretty terrible. All the pasta dishes were ok, but mostly in heavy cream based sauces. Chicken Parmesan was a piece of hard chicken breast in soggy breadcrumbs with semi melted cheese on top. Pork shoulder and steak pieces were swimming in olive oil and garlic. Mushroom risotto was way too overdone. Every course was very heavy on garlic, overcooked and just lucked of any flavour rather than garlic, olive oil, heavy cream or there was 1 dish (shredded chicken and potatoes) very spicy.
Dessert was small uneven cut pieces of tiramisu, lemon tart, chocolate sausage, apple pie bread pudding and 2 scoops of ice cream. Nothing special or to grave for.
All together, a lot of food, but more like canteen food. The restaurant is small and very loud.
On the positive side, the tables had clean tablecloth and napkins. The service was great, everyone was polite and friendly! All depends on your dinning preferences, some people like that type of food.

This restaurant is wonderful. The food and service are outstanding. We went for Sunday brunch. The tables were set with fresh fruit, nuts, olives, meat, and cheese. The meal is pre fixe with a set menu. There was a parade of dishes from salad to pasta to meat. The staff went out of its way to provide gluten free pasta for my wife. A dessert plate was included at the end. Everything was delicious.
Everything about Basso is great. Too bad the service next a lot to be desired. We were a table of 9 and were oreery much ignored throughout dinner. The staff was lovely and friendly - just not attentive. Too bad
Some in our party were a little skeptical of the "Pots, Pans & Pasta Brunch" concept but I reminded them that Peter Kelly has always been a thoughtful and generous chef and not to worry. And boy was I right. It was an excellent feast with great service that we all really enjoyed but overindulged in. Can't wait to go back again soon with other friends and family.
Superb from start to finish! I began with a Caesar Salad, best I've ever had, and grilled artichokes. The red snapper was cooked to perfection and the bread pudding was fabulous. The service was outstanding - I will definitely return!
We ordered a Stella beer. Their version is Estrella- we found it overly sweet. We ordered Caesar salad. It was fine but I prefer the Parmesan cheese to be sliced rather than shredded. Also more anchovies would be welcome. Lettuce needed to be chilled more. Their fried calamari was excellent. The duck- nicely portioned. A bit too salty and very much in need of an acid- a fruit- apricot, peach, orange, cherry, pomegranate. Needed the tart sweet element. Service was solicitous and attentive, more than excellent.
3 of us had very good meals ( swordfish, Branzino and chicken parm). One of us didn't have a good meal( tasteless red snapper smothered in cream sauce). The noise level was high. The waitress was unfriendly. We won't go back.

Cool, another Italian restaurant in Westchester! Nothing particularly creative about the menu or dishes - it all looks like straightforward Italian food. The duck ragu papardelle was very good, the chicken parm was super average, and the chocolate torta dessert was actually not good.
Peter Kelly's refined take on Italian food delivers on all counts. The pastas are delicious and starters such as the warm shrimp salad and roasted yellow beets over ricotta salata are beautifully executed. What a welcome dining addition for Northern Westchester. Looking forward to returning to enjoy more of Peter's superb cooking!
Peter Kelly hits a other homerun with this brunch at Basso. Overall wonderful experience. The food was excellent and it just kept coming! Wide array of dishes to please anyone's palette. The service was great when serving the food but trying to get a refill on our drinks was difficult. I would still recommend it highly.
Pasta was delicious, but nobody explained the dim-sum sort of style serving to us, how much food to expect, what the “rules” were. Some of us left hungry and some left stuffed. Most importantly, since we didn’t seem to have one server, we just alerted a staff member at the start of the meal about an allergy, and then they didn’t know what to do about it, so they told a different waiter, and said not to serve her nuts, but because multiple waiters serve you here, everyone else came around not knowing. We were served multiple desserts with nuts.
Food was very delicious, but some more care could be given with the service.
