Another wonderful dining experience at Basso56! I was hopeful that this visit would be equally as fabulous as my prior visits....and it was! My high expectations were exceeded. No one does a caprese salad better. The balsamic glaze is superb. The colossal shrimp Risi E Bisi was perfection as was the spaghetti pomodoro. The dessert special was so light and fresh. Great night!!!

As always, a visit to Basso56 never fails to satisfy. Great food and outstanding service. Keep up the great job that you all do there.

We really love this restaurant and want them to do well. We had a 715 reservation and were not seated until 8 o'clock. There are a lot of different things that could've happened along the way. Despite the fact that I do believe they thought they were doing their best, it might have been nice for them to communicate more precisely that we were in fact, definitely not going to be sitting until 45 minutes past our reservation time. There was a large party that they were not able to keep on schedule, which is understandable. Perhaps large parties of 17 or 18 are not a great idea on a Saturday night with such a small restaurant. Either way we will be back to support them, but do wish that they had done a better job of managing the very long wait.

Food was excellent, service attentive. We were not rushed. Saturday night place was full in bar area and tables. A bit loud for my liking as we were trying to have a conversation with our friends

We had a wonderful dinner at Basso56 — my wife, her father, and stepmother all loved it. Great food, excellent wine, and warm hospitality. Highly recommend!

As always they hit it out of the park. Basso has become our go to/favorite restaurant. And of course Elvisa deserves a shout out.

The bread served was terrible. No excuse for that. Very pleasant service. Attractive decor. Food was disappointing.

We just came home from Sunday Brunch at Basso by PXK...the "Pots, Pans and Pasta" Brunch. Two hours, a dozen or more courses, one better than the other! Great food, great service. Peter Kelly dropped by each table to welcome us. So happy we went. Will be back for dinner...but it will be difficult to decide on one meal after such great variety.

Service and food were very poor. will not return here

Just an honest opinion about Sunday brunch special. I didn’t expect much for a pre-fix menu of ~42$, but would never comeback even for dinner. The food was awful to my liking!
Pre-set on the table was a basket with bread (fresh +) and a plate with few pieces of Parmesan cheese, 3 olives in olive oil, 1 orange and 1 vein of grape’s. No honey or butter.
First salad/first course was just some old salad leaves with olive oil, nothing else. Caesar salad came next with mayo based garlic sauce, pretty terrible. All the pasta dishes were ok, but mostly in heavy cream based sauces. Chicken Parmesan was a piece of hard chicken breast in soggy breadcrumbs with semi melted cheese on top. Pork shoulder and steak pieces were swimming in olive oil and garlic. Mushroom risotto was way too overdone. Every course was very heavy on garlic, overcooked and just lucked of any flavour rather than garlic, olive oil, heavy cream or there was 1 dish (shredded chicken and potatoes) very spicy.
Dessert was small uneven cut pieces of tiramisu, lemon tart, chocolate sausage, apple pie bread pudding and 2 scoops of ice cream. Nothing special or to grave for.
All together, a lot of food, but more like canteen food. The restaurant is small and very loud.
On the positive side, the tables had clean tablecloth and napkins. The service was great, everyone was polite and friendly! All depends on your dinning preferences, some people like that type of food.

This restaurant is wonderful. The food and service are outstanding. We went for Sunday brunch. The tables were set with fresh fruit, nuts, olives, meat, and cheese. The meal is pre fixe with a set menu. There was a parade of dishes from salad to pasta to meat. The staff went out of its way to provide gluten free pasta for my wife. A dessert plate was included at the end. Everything was delicious.

Everything about Basso is great. Too bad the service next a lot to be desired. We were a table of 9 and were oreery much ignored throughout dinner. The staff was lovely and friendly - just not attentive. Too bad

Some in our party were a little skeptical of the "Pots, Pans & Pasta Brunch" concept but I reminded them that Peter Kelly has always been a thoughtful and generous chef and not to worry. And boy was I right. It was an excellent feast with great service that we all really enjoyed but overindulged in. Can't wait to go back again soon with other friends and family.

Superb from start to finish! I began with a Caesar Salad, best I've ever had, and grilled artichokes. The red snapper was cooked to perfection and the bread pudding was fabulous. The service was outstanding - I will definitely return!
