Cod fish special was perfect. Nice selection of entrees and pastas, and appetizers. I love that Chef Peter comes to each table.
Basso is consistently excellent. The specials were wonderful, as were the regular decisions. All of the employees we interacted with were friendly and helpful. It's a wonderful experience.
I am never disappointed by Basso. The food is delicious, the staff is gracious and attentive (especially Elvisa), and the ambience is warm and inviting. Chef Kelly came out to say hello to everyone, and we were able to enjoy our meal leisurely. This is such a wonderful restaurant!
Mixed mushroom risotto was delicious and perfectly prepared, as was the black and white linguine with mixed seafood. Braised short ribs with gremolata fell apart on the fork and was rich and succulent in the mouth. Wait staff were pleasant and attentive. Altogether, it was a very pleasant experience, and we will surely return.
This was our third meal at Basso 56. The food has been excellent every single time. Looking forward to coming back soon.
Great experience at Basso56. Food was excellent and the staff excelled! Peter is a great host who takes the time to make sure your experience is 5 stars. Great place!
First time we've had brunch at Basso 56. SO MUCH FOOD! Great way to try many new dishes. Save room for dessert- the lemon tart was heavenly.
Peter Kelly is a gem! As always the best. Nasso is fantastic even accommodating a large party. Can't wait to go back.
Basso by PXK in Chappaqua was a fantastic find. We went twice, and each visit the food was consistently delicious with a wide range of great options. The chef Peter Kelly was really friendly and even stopped by to greet us, and the service and atmosphere were excellent. Definitely recommend!

The food and service were both excellent. The place is a little expensive but not unlike other quality places in the area.

I have been here 3 times. The first two visits were good! The food was really delicious. I am giving it fewer starts based on the most recent (and last) visit. We made a reservation over a month out. We were hosting out of town friends and were looking forward to eating here. When we arrived, we were told our table was not ready, nor could they tell us when it would be. The place was packed and we waited outside. We checked back in every 15 mins. For AN HOUR. It was the living episode of Seinfeld — you can take the reservation but can you HOLD the reservation? The whole experience was disappointing and unprofessional on so many levels. Needless to say, we left an hour later as no sign of the table being available was happening. Drove 20 mins to another place and had immediate seating and lovely service —a palette cleanser after such a poor experience at basso.

Went for the Pasta Pans Brunch, so disappointing!! 3 basic pastas - rigatoni vodka, alfredo pasta and orecchiette. Clams, steak, salmon (was very dry). You get one small spoon as a serving, 1 clam, 1 small piece of steak and salmon. We never said Zio because we weren't full!! But they take away your plates. Cappuccinos were cold, sent back. Chef Peter never came around either as advertised. Sorry, but won't be returning.. and this was a special occasion celebrating my nephew passing his bar exam. I was very disappointed, not as promoted on social media.
We had a wonderful meal here. Fodd was great and service and atmosphere were first class—warm and cozy! We'll definitely be back.
I made reservations at Basso for my husband's birthday a few weeks in advance for 7:15pm. When we arrived at the restaurant at 7:10pm we were told it would be a few minutes. We were fine with that - the front area of the restaurant was packed with people waiting - so much so that people had to wait outside in the cold. 15 minutes passed and we still were not seated. I asked the hostess how long, again she said a few minutes.. I said, I need more of a specific estimate. She really didn't know. I said I had a reservation for 7:15pm. To make a long story short, we were not seated until 8pm. This was a birthday dinner - and we waited 45 minutes in a crowded space where you couldn't even get a drink or a glass of water b/c it was so tight. The restaurant was completely overbooked and one party was working one of the servers to get in earlier. It was like reservations meant nothing. It spoiled our entire experience. We were exhausted by the time we sat down. The portions were huge - really surprised for a restaurant like that and the food was just OK. Definitely have had much better. My husband had the burrata wrapped prosciutto and the prosciutto was wet. The beet salad in whipped honey ricotta was too sweet. The paradelle with Lamb Ragu was very good. Once seated the servers were very attentive. I would never go back though. To have to wait 45 minutes with a reservation is not right - one party of 4 actually walked out - they had a reservation too. The restaurant is poorly managed.
