Hadn’t been here in years before dinner last night and wow! Forgot how delicious everything was. Got the summer omakase and the crab gazpacho was heavenly. Super attentive and kind staff also, need to add this back to my regular rotation!
I’m a regular, visiting a few times a year, but our latest trip disappointed. Our favorite dish, the uni pasta, was off the menu. The seasonal specials underwhelmed - plain pasta with clams or salmon roe. The cheese wheel, of course, remains excellent. In summer, it gets hot (no A/C), and you have to push past a crowded bar to reach the emptier dining room. Sadly, my fond memories may stay just that.
I expected better, place looks a bit rundown, and food was just ok, I wasn't blown away..service was lacking, place was busy and in my opinion understaffed. Staff and bartender were friendly. The bathrooms in the rear seem odd because of the manner in which they're separated from the farthest tables by a curtain. I had linguine and clams and pasta was undercooked. Overall I had a good experience with dinner guests which overcame perceived deficiencies!
