I love mushrooms so this was like a little piece of heaven! The menu is small but carefully crafted. And everything features different mushrooms. I took the recommendation of the waiter and I did not regret it: a mac and cheese type of thing without mac, just mushrooms and a jackfruit enchilada with a side of mushroom. I also had their own beer with 3 types of mushroom. Amazing place. Updated from previous review on 2025-08-01
My wife and I finally had dinner here and it blew us away. Another win for Overthrow Hospitality! We ordered 6 courses, each focused on a different mushroom, each with a new style. Wow, so delicious. The standouts were Beech, Blue Oyster, & Maitake. Even the chocolate dessert was shroom-based and delicious. Check it out! One of the most unique and flavorful restaurants in NYCđ
We ate there at 5pm and it was nice and quiet, and almost felt like a private tasting menu. Dishes are made to share. We had the enoki salad, lion's mane dumplings, morels, chestnut mushrooms (with seasonal cauliflower mushrooms added), and king royal trumpet (which comes as a very large red raviolo, very eye-catching and IG-worthy if that's your thing). What a feast! Everything was delicious. I also love that they had young coconuts (coconut water) to drink.
The kind of place you go once because thereâs buzz and the ambience is very nice. Food is good but for me to return to one of those nyc dining experiences where everything is $25-30 per item it needs to be AMAZING and I just didnât feel that here (for reference, I hurt my wallet and return to places like ippudo v and ladybird (although ladybird is also big vibes) over and over bc I think theyâre worth it). The mole was a bit too salty and the ramen was sooo small đ and not rly ramen. Very yummy but shouldâve come with a side of white rice for that dish or more noodles or something to soak up the intense sauce.
Unique experience with all mushroom dishes, but very small portions and none of the dishes were spectacular. The king royal trumpet was particularly disappointing, the red shell was stale and the filling lacked flavor. Dessert was our favorite part of the meal!
Yes, every dish is mushroom-based. No, they donât all taste the same. Every dish is so unique you really forget you are eating mushrooms your whole meal. The lionâs mane dumplings are delicious but the beech âMac n cheeseâ is definitely my favorite. A nice cozy spot with friendly servers!

Overall, dining here was a creative, unique experience but I wouldnât recommend it unless youâre really into mushrooms and want to spend $20 per dish The ambiance was fun and mushroom-themed and our serve was pretty inattentive toward us (but not the other tables). This is a tapas-style restaurant so itâs expected that youâll share everything. For 2 people, we ordered the lionâs mane dumplings, beech mac cheese and the king royal trumpet ravioli. The Beech and King royal trumpet were our favorites and we wanted to order more, but for the price, we couldnât justify it. We went for pizza after đ Updated from previous review on 2025-05-29
WOW. Every single dish was delicious, surprising, a mind-blowing combination of flavors, textures and smells. Sweet and tangy. Smoky and earthy. Beautiful presentation. Super cool vibe. Extraordinary service. Canât wait to come back.
I had a fantastic meal at Third Kingdom.
Dishes we got:
Blue Oyster mushroom - tasted like steak! My favorite of the night.
Trumpet Ravioli - best fried mushroom ravioli Iâve ever had
Beech Mushroom Mac and Cheese- my non vegan friendly loved this and would recommend it to non vegans trying this restaurant for the first time.
Maitake - great flavors!
Focaccia- good but not great probably wouldnât order again
Lions mane dumplings - incredibly fresh but tasted like standard mushroom dumplings
Lava cake - a mushroom based dessert is a crazy idea. And it works so well. The porcini ice cream was surprisingly amazing.
This meal was extraordinarily expensive! Between the two of us we shared 7 dishes and we left feeling full. I would recommend 5 dishes shared between two people.

I love mushrooms so every dish was amazing to me. Will definitely be going back. The environment and staff were very nice too. Super cozy and intimate.
The food was fun and the waitstaff were lovely. This is a good choice for people who want an unexpected vegan menu with a variety of colors and textures.
If you love mushrooms, youâll love this place. Just like me. Everything was great. Very cozy and a nice environment for dinner. Will be going back again soon.
im just disappointed. the mushrooms were chewy. thatâs easy to do. anyone can do that. bring out their flavor without overcooking them. whatâs the point
Quirky, unique restaurant concept, centric on mushrooms, well-executed. The maikado dish and the blue oyster were highlights. Second place were the lionâs main dumplings. Third place was the mole - but it would probably be great for a mole enthusiast (the chef is from the mole region). Last place for me was the beech, which tasted like a lazy Mac & cheese.
Overall, really enjoyed this restaurant! All vegan but super super interesting!
Great atmosphere, better if you get a reservation.
Portions are pretty good. 3-4 dishes for 2 people, 1-2 for 1 person.
