The food was absolutely delicious. I'll definitely be going here again.

Out on a long walk around the upper east side. After lunch further uptown, I passed by Bel Ami and decided to go in. Last came here about 6 months ago. Today the weather was sunny and warm so this place was very busy, both inside and out. Stood in line 10 minutes to order but then got a hot chocolate and a chocolate muffin. Then another 5 minutes to find a table, inside.
Staff were very friendly and efficient. Nice vibe. Will come again.
Back again on a very hot day. Again very busy. No tables outside but grabbed a small table inside. Today decaf americano and a walnut muffin. Both excellent.

Shockingly mediocre and awful. Ordered a prosciutto, brie, fig, red pepper and arugula sandwich. Couldn't taste the prosciutto and the brie was tasteless, just chewy. Opened up the sandwich to find one very thin, tiny slice of prosciutto that did not even come close to covering the baguette on which it was served. The predominant taste was red pepper and arugula. TOTAL RIPOFF!! Ordered the Sacher Torte, which was dry and overly sweet. The chocolate used on top was mushy and overloaded with sugar. Not even the most mediocre cafe in Vienna would dare serve such an awful Sacher Torte slice; a total insult to the Sacher name and tradition. Hot chocolate was supposedly made from melted chocolate, but was so sweet that the chocolate tasted like Hershey's syrup. It was raining and we were looking for a place to have a coffee. A man approached us and asked what we were looking for. He said Bel Ami was the best place in the neighborhood and was run by the wife of the owner of Le Bilboquet, a well-regarded French bakery a few blocks away. Then, he told us he was in the food business, so based on his recommendation, we decided to try Bel Ami. This place deserves zero stars and it was quite expensive for absolutely nothing!!

Great experience here. Good coffee/tea, service and atmosphere.

This is a charming counter-serve cafe--more charming than Pain Quotidein across the street, but with far fewer vegan items. The only vegan item I saw was a hummus wrap (which, to be sure, was good) and plant milk for coffee (but so what? All cafes in NYC offer plant milks). None of the pastries or salads or soups when I visited today were vegan--only the hummus wrap.😟

Bel Ami Cafe is a hidden gem! Brena, Jessica, and Monica make every visit special. Brena greets you with a warm smile, Jessica crafts perfect espresso, and Monica is wonderful. Their teamwork and passion for great coffee shine through in every cup. Whether you’re grabbing a quick drink or staying to enjoy the cozy atmosphere, Bel Ami Cafe is the perfect spot. Highly recommend!

There’s nothing good about this place besides the outdoor seating. Food is not fresh, pretty awful actually. Coffee is ok. Service is rude for no reason. Really giving the chain across the street it’s competitive edge.

Why does the price of the frittata say $8 but the reciept charge is $8.28 + tax??? Really shady advertising by the owners..... Also the frittata was not great. Veggies were fine but the egg was rubbery and squeaky.

Nice iced lattes, great outdoor seating, cute spot. Pastries were okay I’d pass on them.

The place itself looks cute and the staff is friendly. The almond croissant is hard and dry, not what you want in a pastry. The “large” oat like latte I ordered came out as a small was then poured into a larger cup, with more milk added and “allegedly” another shot was added (I asked) but the cup was not full and I feel no extra kick. I have a caffeine addiction so I’ll finish it but what a waste ?

All in all, Bal Ami gave me the worst croissant I’ve ever had in my life and a small latte in a large cup. 0/10 recommend.

I ordered a almond and and egg croissants for my breakfast both were clearly not fresh. When asked the waitress told me they get them every morning.
