It was the worst experience in terms of service. Make you wait for starters for 40 mins. Don’t accept contactless payments. Yelling at clients. Charging tips without any consent and hiding the final receipt.

Sneaky SNEAK for those who want to have a secret experience. Ask for the Pink Room, and enjoy a rather intimate and amazing experience unlike any other place - FOOD IS AMAZING and the drinks are super good.

Starting with the positives: The service here was great and our server was lovely and very attentive. The atmosphere is lovely and warm and cosy, and the bar is fab. What lets this place down is the food. We shared several apps and they were all very underwhelming - the dip was a gross texture, the fries were a bit soggy and under seasoned, lamb chops (we asked for medium rare) were almost uncooked, the tuna and steak tartare were flavourless and a weird texture. We stopped at appetisers because it was very average food. Maybe some of the mains would have been better

We’ve had a reservation at Bell Book and Candle since October 1, and on November 23, we received a call that, with less than 2 weeks notice, they are closing for a private event and cancelling our reservation. Now everything special for the holidays is completely booked, and we are scrambling to find a place to host our family on their first night in the city for the holidays. Very disappointing, and we would not book again around the holidays for fear of the same thing happening.
