Wonderful local modern Italian with busy family orientated vibe. Excellent food served in functional bowls that prevent the food from cooling too quickly. Pretty plants on the ceiling and art work. Great sconces. It’s not a romantic venue as many bigger parties containing some noisy children. I would def go back as there were so many enticing dishes on the menu. Plus plus it was not cold unlike a lot of NYC restaurants. I can’t say how much it cost as we were treated by our companions.

Bella Luna was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is comfortably cute and inviting, and the service was wonderful. The hosts were incredibly gracious and kept checking in on us while we waited for a table, which was so thoughtful. Once seated, everything continued to be great and the food was truly excellent. Highly recommend.

We absolutely loved this place! We ordered the calamari and Bella Luna pizza; both delicious. Excellent service and the atmosphere was calm, quiet, and pleasant.

We found this beautiful restaurant on our visit to Central Park! I searched for restaurants near us and this is one that came up. It was only 1/4 mile away. When we walked in, the atmosphere was great. It wasn’t rushed, but very comfortable. I ordered the Tagliatelle Bolognese, and my wife ordered the Lasagna. We agreed that it was some of, if not the best Italian food we’ve ever had. 5 Stars!

One the best restaurant experience I have ever had and I am a restaurant manager and have been in food and beverage all. My life.

For me one of the best typically Italien styled restaurants, very reasonable prices for the quality, friendly staff

Food was fabulous (except for the mashed potatoes, so don't get that!). However, as you can see from one of my photos, there was one waiter who was quite arrogant and obviously doesn't think beer should be served in the restaurant and just poured the beer into my dining partner's glass, on both occasions, and left half a glass of head. And then weirdly had to be asked twice to get us the bill. But the rest of the food was great, especially the Tiramisu, and the wine was lovely. My partner said the icecream was very creamy and one of the best he's ever tasted. Lasagne special was great, as was the prawn scampi. Food was so good, we will probably be tempted to go back & just insist Mr Blue shirted waiter isn't ours.

Above average local Italian restaurant. I’ve been here several times at different times of year and always had a good experience. The roast vegetable Napoleon is a good veggie friendly choice. They are able to swap sauces on the pastas in order to accommodate allergies (for example their pesto contains walnuts). The service is consistently friendly and prompt.

Bella Luna used to my UWS catchall, and then it changed. It’s not that the new Bella Luna is bad, it’s just not the same.

6 months ago, I would have described Bella Luna as an all-purpose, community-oriented restaurant; a bit trattoria with a healthy splash of ristorante. Perfect for dates, get togethers, afterschool celebrations, and the like. But their new direction is full on ristorante: they updated their aesthetics, raised their prices, shrunk their portions, and put more effort into their dish presentation.

Essentially, my once coveted eggplant parmesan now costs more, no longer comes with a free side, and is noticeably smaller — but it sure looks pretty on the plate.

The staff at Bella Luna are nice and the presentation is lovely: I'm sure they'll find their new audience, but Bella Luna isn't a fit for me or my family anymore.

On a side note, I enjoyed what I sampled from my friend's dishes, which included the newly added roasted vegetable napoleon. However, I did not enjoy the new eggplant parmesan. It was textureless and lacked flavor.
