One of the last of old school New York Historic Bars, drinks were incredible and bartenders were great. 10$ per person for entertainment while we were there but it was worth it. Miss my dirty martini. Can’t wait to come back.

Fantastic place with great food and drinks. I wasn’t a fan of the pisco sour but I could definitely tell its quality even though it wasn’t my favorite. High shelf quality and it was super well balanced. My second drink was the Manhattan - their signature drink. And WOW was it good. Get this drink if you go here. Lastly their food was good. I had their burger and fries with a side of mac. Really good.
The art both on the walls and ceilings are world class. The ambience is unbeatable. I will be returning.

Bemelmans Bar is one of my favorite spots in the city. It has a cozy vibe that is great for a cold winters night. The music is always incredible and people are friendly. It’s a great place to go for a fun date or to meet up with friends. You do have to stand in line but you can usually get in decently quickly, especially if you don’t mind standing at the bar. I always have a great time whenever I go.

It’s nice to see people’s reaction to Bemelman’s in the Carlisle. It’s a charming space however it has become pretentious as have the waiters. A $28 martini is just not worth it. Too bad.

Bemelmans Bar at The Carlyle Hotel is the real deal in NYC!
I've visited bars all over NYC—not just in Manhattan—and Bemelmans is one of my top choices, so I am a regular client there. Some might argue it's too expensive, with its cover charge and pricey drinks. But in reality, this is a prime example of cost-effectiveness. Compared to other so-called "exclusive/glamorous" but lame and expensive bars, you don’t go to Bemelmans just to have a drink, listen to average music, or be surrounded by pretentious people. You go to Bemelmans to pay a premium price for an unparalleled experience.
Bemelmans Bar is arguably the most iconic bar in NYC, capturing the essence of classic New York with its unique wall paintings, live piano and jazz music, excellent cocktails, diverse clientele, and an electrifying atmosphere you just won’t find easily elsewhere. The cherry on top is the staff: the GM, doormen, bartenders, and waitstaff are some of the finest and genuinely nicest people in the NYC hospitality industry. Cheers!
