finally! a good place in midtown (48th & 5th) where one can get a great burger--as well as plenty of other tasty options. we asked for a quiet table--and got it, in the back; thank you!--and had excellent service. a pleasant surprise: the prices weren't "5th avenue" prices. thank heavens there's somewhere in that neighborhood one can eat without having to take out a loan. great all around. i will definitely be back...and so will my guests.
My sister and I were in the city to celebrate a milestone birthday for her. Our waiter went out of her way to make the meal special for my sister - who is a bit of a quirky eater. The best was the giant candle put in the dessert - looked like a Roman candle firecracker and my sister was beyond delighted. Meals were simple (soups and salad and dessert) and perfect after a day of walking the city.
We went to Benny John’s for a nightcap since it was close to our hotel and advertised all day happy hour. The happy hour drink selection is somewhat limited, but they still offer a good variety at a great price. I had the sauvignon blanc & my wife had the sangria. The sauvignon blanc was as expected & sangria was a dry sangria & not overly sweet.
I had the apple cobbler for dessert which is really the reason for my review — and it was delicious....
