Bermudez Bakery is a landmark community institution and a meeting place for Eastside Harlem residents. Takes me back to my childhood having grown up in the South Bronx and Harlem. Delicious coffee, toasted bread, Cuban Sandwich and a load of pastry delights baked on the premises. Simple taste of heaven preserved by a Elder community resident who refuses to retire but rather refire. Dios te bendiga Papi.
Doesn't look great from the outside, but it is well known in the neighborhood. Their homemade bread is soft and fluffy (makes for delicious sandwiches), and their pastries are perfectly chewy with the right amount of sweet. I often pair it with a morning coffee. Definitely one of my favs, have been coming here for years.
