We went there twice both times getting the "special" which was 24 pieces of sushi. I didn't complain either time but honestly, I was not happy. The rice was not pleasant in my mouth, especially the black rice. It's like it was day old rice so it had that kind of hard/dry texture, not like a smooth sushi rice, and if there was nori there wasn't much. I don't normally give negative reviews but I was so disappointed in my meal that I felt compelled to make this review, if nothing else than to remind myself not to return. Perhaps I should have tried a different dish, I don't know, but with sushi in the name I think there should be more attention to the texture of the rolls. One more thing, I really liked some of the flavors of the rolls, but the mustard for me really didn't belong. The service was perfect and the people were very pleasant so it wasn't a horrible experience. I just wish the food had been better. I wasn't super hungry or I'd have tried one of the entrees, but if they were bad I'd have been even more disappointed.

We were so excited to try this all vegan sushi restaurant in NYC and it did not disappoint! Our favorites were the mushroom salad, the “pork” shumai, and “crab” cream cheese wantons. Delicious! Hoping to return to try their ramen during our stay.

We absolutely loved Beyond! As a relatively new vegan, I've been missing sushi so much. It was amazing to come somewhere where I could eat everything, and everything was amazing. Special shout-out to the ube cheesecake, the crab rangoons, and the spicy salmon sushi. Our server McAllister was attentive, friendly, and incredibly kind. We will definitely be back next time we're in NYC!
