Small bakery with big dessert energy. The staff was helpful and gave me notes on the best cupcakes to try. They had a great selection as well, even late in the day. I appreciate the guidance on how to store the baked goods and all. The German chocolate cupcakes were a hit and the quality is still great! I'll be back. I parked on the block and found the shop with ease.

i’ve passed by maybe a million times but walking by today — billy’s called my name. popped into see if they had any gluten free options, and behold .. yes they did!
tried the chocolate cake vanilla buttercream option (they also had chocolate/chocolate) and it was a 4.5/5 — cake was a little dry but more rich than sweet, which i like. icing was sugary and yummy.
space was warming but they could make it a little “stay a little longer” friendly!
recommend for gf cupcake fix — and would love to see the flavor of month extend to gf in future!

The guy who worked there rolled his eyes at me and goes “We don’t do that.” I felt so uncomfortable. Never will come back here again with the service I received. I live in another state and drove 3 hours. The cupcakes I ordered also tasted old and I had to throw them away couldn’t even eat them.

The cakes & cupcakes at Billy's are outstanding, some of the best in the city. I order often for my office for birthdays, company parties etc & they're always a hit! My gripe with Billy's is that their customer service is nearly non-existent - it's happened before that I've needed small tweaks or questions about orders and their entire team couldn't care less about helping. It's always very to the point, no accommodations even for a very-often user, what is online is the unchanging bible and don't expect any warmth when you're on the phone with them. I'll continue ordering for basic needs but if you need anything thoughtful or custom (don't even THINK about last minute!) Billy's is not your place.

I hate this place with a passion the general manager is hot garbaj. And they keep their baked goods for like 5 days it doesn’t sell so you’re not guaranteed fresh product. Yuck.

brought expensive heart shaped cake and cup cakes for daughter birthday--- the cupcakes were ALL stale! and the birthday cake was STALE, !! they should be out of business for selling STALE, OVERPRICED FOOD!! HORRIBLE!! Not good, NEVER AGAIN!!!!

My family and I have been happy regular customers at Billy’s Bakery since they first opened this location, when my kids were babies and now they are almost done with high school. We live nearby and Billy’s remains one of our favorite and most reliable bakeries in NYC (and we are serious baked goods connoisseurs). Their cupcakes are always fresh and delicious with just the right moisture and sweetness. Their banana cake and banana pudding are simply the best we’ve had anywhere. We also ordered many birthday and celebration cakes here over the years, and every one of them was great tasting and beautiful, and so I am not sure why the negative review. Their cakes are made with real buttercream or cream cheese frosting, and it’s not fondant which may support more designs but not really edible. Their service is always attentive and we’ve had many different requests from my kids through the years, and Billy’s never disappoints. We usually take out but when they were younger we also loved eating in as they have tables inside. We highly recommend this bakery for any occasion!

Why are these cupcakes so dry?? Add some yogurt or more fat to the cupcake recipe, please! The buttercream is great but the cupcakes, even when I confirmed they were super fresh, were super dry and crumbly. Boo.
