really cute place. very cozy. there was a dog in there and i love dogs but the owner wasn't controlling it, and it was in everyone's space. like hopping on chairs with people who were eating while the owner was on his computer. i wish they were more diligent about that but i live the space, good place to meet with friends, and I think that they have events at night which I've never been to but it sounds super cute. Also, I love that it's open till late! The coffee was good

I highly recommend the Nutella Latte! It's delicious! Perfectly balanced! Plus, what a comfortable, cozy place to drink my coffee! Plenty of seating including stools, chairs, armchairs, loveseats, and couches with coffee tables, tables, and a coffee bar along the wall. An artfully decorated space with an assortment of lovingly-worn board games available to play while at the cafe. The person who served me was extremely welcoming and with a pleasant attitude that started my day off right!

Coffee and service were gross. Sorry, I know the baristas are young but your conversation can wait until you take care of the next customer. And eye contact would be nice.

Just the kind of laid back, classic coffee shop I want. Sometimes I find coffee shops can start to feel a little bit, dare I say, pretentious, and I don't want that (obviously). But Black CAT is easy going without trying to be something it's not. It has charm in a way that can only be developed over time and circumstance. This place feels authentic. I think coffee shops have really been hit hard by the idea of making something "instagramable" which puts me off. I am a lover of aesthetics, don't get me wrong, but I don't want to live my life in constant consideration of how it would look through a screen. Black Cat does not seemed concerned with this at all. I appreciate the lack of fussiness. It's a great spot. And that's not to say it's not nicely decorated either, it's just, like I said, authentic feeling.

My favorite coffee shop in the city. Nothing special food or coffee wise but it’s a great vibe. So sad they got rid of the old busted chairs :(

Great spot. Easy to miss. A local favorite, and almost a destination location. Makes me want to live here.

It was very crowded when I got there but I got a seat. I was told by the cashier that the kitchen was open, but I couldn't get simple avo toast w egg, it had to be guacamole? I was hesitant because I didn't want premade guacamole per se. However I still got it, and it was handmade but I wouldn't call it guacamole--it was avocado with garlic powder, giant tomato chunks, and 2 dices of red onion. I later heard another customer offered "avocado toast with just some salt pepper and lemon juice," at the cashier's suggestion... not sure why I wasn't allowed that? The eggs were objectively over done. Also, I seriously am unsure whether my cappuccino had espresso, that's how weak it was. I was handed utensils not by the handle but the part you eat from. When my order was called out it was shouted (very loudly) followed by "I don't know who ordered this!!" And I'd like to think that this was all unintentional.. however the people working then said at some point "we should post a sign on the door saying NO SEATS DONT COME IN!" So I will not be returning, I will be telling my friends to avoid, so I guess the employees' bullying tactics were effective. Their wants will be met and less people will come into the cafe.

Terrible experience, the barista is very rude and stereotypical. There are plenty of decent coffee shops in the city and this one is far from one. I don’t recommend anybody to come here if you don’t want your day ruined for being treated improperly.
