Gluten-free bagel dry as sand and not heated enough. Cappucino was awful. Think if you are not gluten allergic and order black coffee it might be better.
Very rude staff
Tried for the first time the other day, got an everything bagel with ramp cream cheese! and some bagels to go! very tasty and the woman working the register was so friendly!
10/10 — Black Seed Bagels was exactly the fuel I needed to survive (and thrive) through a night in Times Square. The bagel? Flawless. The vibe? Immaculate.
If you’re planning to conquer the city that never sleeps, make sure you carb-load at Black Seed first. Your future self will thank you.
🧡🤣
Delicious Bacon Egg and Cheese bagel. Very quick service.
Kate is always the warmest and kindest person in the room. She makes everyone who enters the store feel welcome and celebrated. If there were more people like Kate in the world, it would be a better place.
This is my go to bagel spot in the city. Bagels are fire except they have messed up my order many times (wrong type of bagel, wrong type of cream cheese, put in capers even though I requested no capers) so maybe just mediocre staff. But this doesn’t happen too often so it’s okay. Pricey but it’s NY I guess.
I got the brick lane and I couldn’t finish my bagel because there was so much Dijon on it. Other bagels look good and the staff is friendly.
Bagels were not special.. not super flavorful or crackly crusted or airy. And scallion cream cheese wasn’t very tasty or scalliony. I do appreciate that they have multigrain and vegan options. Also I ordered a drip coffee for nearly $5 which was served luke warm, nearly cold. But everyone who worked here was nice! and there was no line and service was pretty fast.
We are from Montreal, where the best bagels are made!
We wanted to try NYC bagels to compare, we loved this place. The poppyseed bagel was good, definitely different from our bagels up North…

Obsessed with the Stumptown Black Seed coffee collab. Any way I can order beans online? Couldn't find them anywhere. 🙏🏻
The best bagel place
Best bagel I’ve ever had
I stan Black Seed Bagel. I genuinely believe they have the best BEC in Manhattan, so when I heard they were having a Chorizo, Egg, and Cheese special exclusively at the Nolita location, I knew I had to get over there.
I’m in the East Village Black Seed every Saturday morning with my big bro, our weekly heart-to-heart over a BEC and a small black coffee. However, I had to get out of my comfort zone and play a road game at the Nolita store to get this chorizo special.
Nolita is the first Black Seed Bagel location that opened 10 years ago, the start of a CRAZY run. In celebration, they are running specials exclusively at this location.
The first one is this Chorizo sandwich made up of Vital Farms eggs, cheddar cheese, and Campo Grande’s Iberico Chorizo.
The Zo is rich, slightly sweet, slightly smokey flavor, and just melts in your mouth. This is some high quality Zo. I added a little of the Zabs hot sauce too that took it to another level.
BLACK SEED ALL STARS!

Please don’t be lured by the promise of gluten free bagels- they are terrible ! They must have changed their recipe or supplier because in the past, black seed’s gf bagels were much more convincing as real bagels. The new ones are dry and crumbly with no resemblance to a real bagel aside from looks. I can’t believe I was hosed of $18 for a sandwich that tasted so awful! Please bring back your old gf recipe, Black Seed.
