The burgers were brilliant. The Nashville wings stayed true it’s spice level. We sat at the basement (because there was construction on the outside for outdoor seating) - but enjoyed the ambiance of the basement, it had a true NYC feels.

Without question the best burger and shake place we have ever been to. My wife and I are food people, we love good food, interesting recipes, and locations. We planned ahead to go to Black Tap on a recent trip to NYC. Black Tap is way worth the wait without question. The food was fantastic. The atmosphere was amazing and the service was top notch. If you are going to be in NYC do yourself a favor and hit up Black Tap you won’t be disappointed.

The food was great. One of the best hamburgers I ever had. However, the service was far from satisfying. That's why I gave 4 stars and not 5.

Food is PHENOMENAL!! Our group had crispy chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries (pictured), Mexican spice wings (not spicy), bbq wings, and cheeseburger, plus chips n queso and fried pickles for appetizers. We all loved every bite. Wait line outside is very strange as the line starts at THE END of the block NOT the entrance. There is sign but again it’s at the end of the block.

3 words......Amazing, Amazing, AMAZING! The food was awesome and the shakes were equally just as good! Be careful when ordering as the portions are pretty big. I ate one half of my Kobe burger and the other half I saved for dinner. It's not as small as it appears. There seems to be a downstairs area I had no clue about until we were leaving. You can also sit outside. The waiters were awesome as well. Overall everything about this place is amazing.

Our food was delicious! These shakes were incredible! We were really looking forward to trying this place. They had about a 20 minute wait when we arrived. Our server was fantastic and we will return next time.

This place was on my sons list of must go to places. We went to eat dinner and celebrate my sons birthday. We had to wait on line to get in. But it was well worth it. The food was delicious and the crazy shakes were even better. The shakes were a great presentation. The burgers are excellent. Definitely recommend!

Tried a variety of different foods from here and they all tasted great! It’s a bit pricey but that comes from the location and popularity I think. The crazy milkshakes are a must try as they’re very unique and they take their time to make it tasty. The wait is not too bad even on busy days as it’s first come first serve. Very nice server as well.

One of the best (if not the best) burgers in town! We had the kobe burger and the greg norman burger and both were amazing. The onion rings are great too. The only thing we didn't get is the crazy signature shakes that looked amazing but we were too full for them. We'll have to save those for a separate visit. Very recommended!

You're paying $6 for the burger and $8 for the scene. Perfectly nice staff, friendly. Perfectly ordinary burger - no better than what you can find in any good bar or diner. Very good onion rings. Pretty lame beer options- hipster IPAs and lagers, but nothing terribly exciting. I'm also always suspicious when the regular burger is $14 and the "Kobe Truffle Burger" is $17 - I can't imagine how they're able to find Wagyu Beef and truffles for $3 above the price of ordinary chuck... I see from the menu that they "source" their beef somewhere special, but it tasted a lot like a burger you could source from Gristides...

My friend and I skipped lunch and went here for dinner on a Wednesday. Yes we heard about milkshakes and went to try it for ourselves. But we were pleasantly surprised by burgers. They had such flavorful burgers. The milkshakes were sugary and only good for picture taking. I would not buy the milkshake again.

The food was good but nothing more than average. The service was okay, a bit slow for not being very busy. The milkshakes though were out of this world! They certainly live up to their reputation!!

My friend and I went to Black Tap on a Thursday afternoon and the wait was surprisingly not that long! Great experience and the food was awesome!
