Always love Blue Bottle Coffee — latte and waffles are the best

Coffee is decent but they are so slow. This is inside the train station so it’s fair to assume that most customers are catching the train. The staff there however seems to be completely oblivious about this and has zero considerations on the fact that people are in a rush and it might be nice for them to be just a little faster. The wait is much longer than expected every single time and this time it was so bad that I had to just give up on the coffee that I paid for and rush to the train…..

Worst ever lol supposed to open at 5:30 but they both showed up late to work clearly and not actually open when they should’ve been. When asked, they were extremely rude and dismissive. They’re mentioned in other reviews too so glad to know they are just bad employees

I was here on a Sunday afternoon, there were only two customers. The three ladies working there do not seem very enthusiastic about serving the customers. The barista making the coffee splashed milk all over the counter when she steamed milk. She did not properly tap the milk and glazed the foam. Considering it's over $6.25 for a tiny cup and we have $1 tip, this is the most expensive cappuccino I ever had. No proper foam, no art pattern, no services.

I have always thought the Blue Bottle is a good brand, this experience totally spoiled it.

I’ve been a regular at this Blue Bottle location —about 4–5 times per week—and I’ve generally had good experiences, which is why this visit was so disappointing.

When I came in recently, one of the baristas (a red-haired Eastern European girl employee) was standing around chatting and gossiping with a coworker while I placed my order. I asked for my coffee black, and right away she made a loud, sexually derogatory comment to her coworker. It felt unprofessional and uncomfortable in a public workspace.

After getting my coffee, I asked another worker for half-and-half on the side so I could add it myself. I ended up with extra half-and-half and didn’t want to dump it into the small trash bin at the counter, so I politely asked if they could take it. The same barista immediately gave me an attitude and told me to throw it away “around the corner.” I said I didn’t see a trash can, and instead of helping, she stared me down and made additional derogatory remarks about me to her coworker within earshot.

That kind of hostility and disrespect is not what I expect from Blue Bottle, especially at a place I’ve supported so consistently. I hope management addresses this, because no customer should be made to feel uncomfortable or mocked for a simple, polite request.

Lovely staff and good matcha but all ruined by one specific member making the drinks. I ordered almond milk and he made it with cow’s milk. I am lactose intolerant so know exactly what cow’s milk tastes like but he tried to gaslight me by denying that it was made with cow’s milk. If you’re dealing with a dietary requirement why would you argue with a customer? His colleague who was much more reasonable just made me a new one which tasted completely different ie because it was made with almond milk. Shame that my experience was ruined by one member, and I won’t be returning.

At 5:20am I asked what time the cafe opens.
The staff replied, “maybe 5:45, maybe 5:30.”
Dismissive & unhelpful staff, which is disappointing because I usually like Blue Bottle Coffee.

Unfortunately I ordered coffee here before reading the ratings. Coffee=lukewarm, staff=dismissive, and the barista used a towel she dropped on the floor to wipe the coffee machine. Gross.

Absolutely rude staff here.
I went today at 5.40am to be greeted by some arrogant girl.
If you guys want to charge $6.50 for a coffee then at least bother to train your staff.

I stopped by this location for the first time about a month ago after moving from California and have been coming for my daily fix of espresso almost every day since. The coffee is some of the best I've had despite it being a chain and I've recently been obsessed with their cold espresso.
The staff are friendly and personable and service is surprisingly quick in spite of the busy location.
Also I just wanted to shout out the latte art...its seriously impressive and provides a nice lift to my day.

Note: I looked at some of the negative reviews and it seems that people in the city are just angry at everyone and everything.
