Disappointing. Blue Bottle used to be synonymous with quality service, sleek ambiance, meticulous drinks. These days it is hardly different from a Starbucks. My hot chocolate order was mishandled, then the re-do had so much chocolate ganache, it was undrinkable.
Look, the coffee is very good. I understand BB is a shop that serves a more quality product. But why am I being charged the “pour over” price ($5… up from $4 not long ago) for a drip coffee from a spigot? Pour over is a specialty drink, like a cappuccino, etc. that a barista has to take time to make. Drip coffee from the spigot is made in a machine. It’s not the same, and if you’re a real coffee snob, it doesn’t taste the same either. Coffee prices have gotten out...
I only purchase beans here but the staff is always helpful and friendly. I’ve enjoyed all the coffee’s I purchased there but my all-time favorite is Bela Donna. Also Three Africas very good.
