great music, great food, nice service
The worst experience ever at that venue last night out of all the times I've been there. The tables were packed literally like sardines with no room to move to the side, back, or forward!!. The environment was unsafe because in case of emergency, you could not even get out of your table. We paid LOTS of money for the tickets, and yet, they managed to make more spacious (and safer) seats as "VIP" so that you needed to pay extra for those seats. I know I have not been there in a while, but I NEVER had to pay extra for those seats. They were always "first come first serve"- which is the way it was listed. What they did this time was UTTERLY disgusting. Many people were saying "how are they getting away with this?" The show was great, but the people at the table had more interest in food/drinks than music and kept on ordering, so that the waiters constantly interfered with the view. The show was great, but the club atmosphere and setup were DISGUSTING! Get rid of the VIP seating! Stop making 6 people sit at a table for for! AND we also had to wait outside in the cold after 5PM even though it said the doors "open at 5." I guess everything got worse in NYC, including this legendary venue. SAD.
Food was excellent. Food and drink were extremely overpriced though. If you go bring your patience. You will be packed in. Seating is set up very tight together because of the size of this club. You also maybe seating with other people at your table. Sorry to say not a good place for larger size people. If you go to a popular show, purchase table tickets, get there early and only order 1 or two drinks and an appetizer. They require a $20 minimum at the table so u will have to order something. If you go during winter- You have to check your coat or put it on your lap you can not put your coat on the back of your chair.
-so keep that in mind. Chris Botti is a great performer and an extremely talented musician I have seen him at multiple venues this was not the best venue to see him in though.

Exclusive of the food....and tight squeeze for seats close to the stage, the Blue Note NYC is a great place to see and experience some of the best musicians at this historic venue. Excellent sound system and views, you are right there...🎶🎵🎶🎵

This is one of New York’s most Quintessential Jazz bars. A great space with amazing sound and lots of talent both on the stage and waiting the tables and tending bar.
See you again soon Blue Note.

The owners squash people in like sardines.
They do not cater to the customer’s comfort.
The food is truly bad. They don’t even try.
The general admission of 1st come, 1st selection is a joke. We arrived early, and almost all the good seats were reserved!
That was so disgusting. Blue note is the worse place to hear jazz in nyc. The other jazz bars have better performers, and everyone is treated equitably. I will never patronize the blue note again. The owners stand for everything I don’t like..

Wonderful experience, an evening with Chris Botti and guests. Do not plan on bar seating, very limited, the tables are tight but the experience made up for any inconvenience or discomfort. Service was excellent

A staff member's rude and unprofessional behavior ruined my experience at this location. The dismissive woman at the front door offered no welcome or assistance and seemed uninterested in helping me. This negative interaction made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, and I will not be returning. I hope management addresses this issue to improve future customer service.

Good artists. The food is bad for brunch and there were way too many people.
Better jazz clubs in town.

We saw Chris Botti on opening night this year, December 9th and he was amazing, so this review is not about his performance and is singularly about Blue Note.
When we looked in on the venue during the day, it looked like a pleasant place and looked nicely decorated for the holiday.
Well, we we arrived for the 7p performance an hour before and I immediately felt claustrophobic. We were able to get two seats towards the bar end of the venue but at a terribly tight table for 4. I am six feet tall and 200 lbs and had to squeeze into my seat between my newly acquainted table guest and a knee wall to the other side. We almost had to take sips of our drinks at the same time. Eating was a whole other challenge. BTW, they ran out of chicken wings!!!
Blue Note should be ashamed for cramming its customers into such a tight space. I dare say this situation may not meet FDNY fire regulations, if there had been a fire that night I doubt we would have all made it out.
Cramming that many people into this venue just wreaks of greed at the cost of a customers comfort.
This would have been an amazing experience with half the guests instead of what was there.

Went to the Chris Botti Holiday show....where he is wonderful, this year venue seemed shorter as more outside guests playing. However, what is so frustrating when you stand in line to get a good seat for an hour, as it first come, first serve, EVERY GOOD TABLE had a reserve sign...I mean EVERY. So even though 4th in line....you do not get a great seat. Blue Note should limit reserved for the cost you pay and have to sit in a less desirable location.

It’s unfortunate because the musicians here are incredible, but we came for holiday jazz and they packed us in so tight it ruined the entire experience. My husband and I are 15+ year New Yorkers, so we’re used to tight spaces but this was ridiculous. We couldn’t breathe - literally. My husband left in the middle of the performance. We won’t ever be going back.

We attended the Chris Botti Holiday concert— we had seen him 3 times in Houston Tx / there were 4 of us could from Houston Tx and Mississippi/ celebrating anniversary and birthday— you would think 4
People could could
Occupy a table no we had 2 strangers sitting with us— not fair for the cost of tickets and venue —
Music great/
Stood in line an hour to get in to find out the good tables were all reserved for family and friends of band and artist— seemed a little excessive it was like 20 tables and it only suppose to hold 200 folks / we
Wouldn’t have
Gotten there early had we known no way in hell we
Would have gotten a nice table
We sat
Most the night with Chris with his back to us — guess it’s his concert but with ticket drinks and terrible food we had spent over $1000.00
