Blue Ribbon is located inside a hotel through an almost secret door. Warm wood interior throughout. Stand out dishes include Cauliflower popcorn, Wagyu Gyoza, Crispy Rice Tuna, Oxtail Fried Rice. The place is total slammed even on a mundane Thursday night.

It’s ok but nothing special. Lamb chops were ok but not crunchy enough. They put crab sticks in fish soup which is a garbage ingredient and shouldn’t have place in a kitchen of good

Really can’t fault this place. Everything about it was good. Came for lunch and it was very busy for good reason. I’ll be back.

This is a fantastic place for the sushi. They have other great items but some of the best quality fish around.

My mind is blown! We have loved the Bromberg Brothers Blue Ribbon for 15 years. And our meal tonight at their Sushi Bar and Grill was spectacular. They have figured it all out! The Dragon roll, Miso Cod, Grilled Avocado and to finish the Red Snapper with yuzu butter sauce .... wow zowie! The signage is not good so enter the Columbus Circle Hotel next to the bagel joint and door is on right. But great Japanese restaurant!

Top notch sushi. Japanese chefs. Nice sushi bar. Walked in at 10PM Friday and sat at bar no wait. Quick service. Good Sochu. Pricey but you can appreciate the quality.

Go to for comfortable sushi. We prefer a table, but will sit at the sushi bar if no reservation. Sushi is good. Pretty standard fare with specials like sea urchin roe and oysters. Wish they had negimaki but always leave satisfied. Wakame is good, as is the kale salad. Tuna, eel, Hamachi, blue crab & uni are consistent. Not a pretentious place, so casual works. And you can get in and out pretty quickly.

Excellent spot near Columbus Circle for sushi. Great selection of nigiri and roles, fund ambience in the darkly paneled room, good drinks and fair service. In short - enjoyed by everyone - and true to the brand.

This place is a hidden gem inside a hotel, but don't let that fool you. The vibe inside is cozy and elegant, and the sushi is out of this world. You can tell they use only the freshest and highest quality fish, as each bite melts in your mouth and bursts with flavor. The presentation is also stunning, with colorful and creative dishes that make you want to take a picture before you dig in.The menu is not your typical sushi place, as they offer some other cooked options that are equally delicious. I loved the crispy rice with ahi tuna, the popcorn shrimp, and the cauliflower tempura. If you want to splurge, the Blue Ribbon Roll with lobster and the spicy crab roll are phenomenal options. They are pricey, but worth every penny. The service is very fast and efficient, even when the place gets busy. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they make sure you have a great experience. I definitely recommend making a reservation, as this place is very popular and can get crowded. This is one of my favorite sushi places in NYC, and I can't wait to go back. If you are looking for a place to treat yourself or impress someone, this is it. You won't regret it.

Either ya love Uni or ya don’t. I personally love the creamy texture and oceanic flavor but I totally get if you don’t! Blue ribbon sushi serves one of the fresh sushi I’ve ever had. It has a small, beautiful atmosphere, and the service is amazing! Are you an Uni fan? ? Insta: @thehungrysw

Ordered the “whole” Kyushu Ahi and the Blue Ribbon Maki. You can see from the photo, there is nothing whole about it. It was literally fish jerky that had been so over cooked that they burned a whole through it. It was inedible. Served on a bed of cold bean thread noodles for a whopping $36!!! Unbelievable. Astonishing how bad it was. There is a pic posted of The Maki sashimi ($32) which was old and fishy tasting and smelling in a bad way. You know when it is old. It was awful. Inedible. We couldn’t eat it. We also ordered 3 sushi rolls which were mediocre at best but we ate them because we were hungry! For the price point, you kind hope for better quality. It seems there was no care in the preparation or in the ingredients of the dishes. Serving old fish? Seriously? Quality manager should be reprimanded. This was the Blue Ribbon on 58th st at The Columbus Hotel. Last note…everyone seemed slightly annoyed and rude in general… when we went to the host stand and asked to order take out, she said, with great attitude, ”Do you have a reservation?” Laughable. $68 of inedible fish. Lesson learned.

Great food for a pretty reasonable price.Expensive but for people who really love sushi! We easily dropped a benjamin here but it was worth it because we had really fresh sushi! Definitely a must if you are staying on the upper west side.
