I’m very disappointed. I’ve been a loyal customer for years and always enjoyed their cappuccinos—until now. Hence, this updated review.
I ordered my usual large cappuccino, and as I stood in the back watching it being made, I could tell from the way she was weirdly frothing the milk that it wasn’t going to be any good. Sure enough, the drink was barely lukewarm and had just a faint hint of coffee. I doubt she even used the proper amount of espresso for a large.
I brought it back, and she poured half into the steel jar, frothed it again, and put it back into my cup. Still no words—no “sorry,” no “let me fix it,” nothing. When I sipped it again, it was still lukewarm. Overall, just pitiful.
I briefly considered bringing it back a second time because it’s disappointing to waste $9, but I didn’t want to deal with people who clearly don’t know how to do their job and have no manners. I ended up tossing it just two blocks away. Not worth the calories if you’re not enjoying it. I won’t be returning.

how blue stone finds it humane to their employees to have a broken a/c for the last 4+ weeks in a NYC summer is insane!!!!

Excellent service and good matcha. However, the ac has been broken. I feel awful for the employees. I want to patronize the cafe but please do better by your people and fix the ac!

I’m rarely ever one to leave bad reviews, and it’s unfortunate that this is one of those times, but this marks the first time I’ve ever experienced such a bizarre lack of basic manners, let alone customer service skills, from not one, but two staff members in a row at any establishment. When I greeted the cashier, he didn’t respond, so assuming he must not have heard me, I repeated myself as I stepped closer to the register, and again, weirdly, no response despite mutual direct eye contact until I started ordering. I got the Laird Superfood Mocha, but when it was handed to me, that same cashier, who also prepared it, presented it to me as a “matcha” despite what it said on the label. Weird lack of acknowledgement a third time when I said thank you as I left, and I wouldn’t have given what I thought was a slip of the tongue earlier during the handoff a second thought, but the beverage itself looked super light in comparison to the photo (in other words, nothing like a mocha) and had zero taste of coffee or chocolate. I went back inside after tasting it on the way out, and said “excuse me” to another staff member behind the counter, twice, raising my voice a second time when it became clear she was on a personal phone call. I said that I ordered a mocha but it tasted like a matcha. She replied “no, it’s a mocha,” eyeing the label, as though I couldn’t read and seemingly unconvinced by the fact that my drink was barely darker than straight up milk. When I turned away from the cup to her to follow up and elaborate, she’d already turned around and resumed her phone call. No “can I help you with anything else,” no “have a good day.” And a fourth time I went completely unacknowledged when I audibly said “thanks, have a good one” as I headed out the door (I should note that they were not in the middle of taking or preparing orders while this was happening).
And on top of all that, no one behind the counter was wearing gloves, except for the staff member on the phone call who was wearing a single one. Bare hands definitely went into the ice box.
Still weirded out by the rude vibes. It’s clear from other reviews on here that management desperately needs to train their staff in basic politeness and give them a raise. Because otherwise, the drinks aren’t even worth coming back.
Note: I mistakenly posted this review earlier under the Bryant Park location, which I've since deleted.

First time at Bluestone looking for healthier food. The avocado toast and banana bread are really good. The only turn down is staff which are not friendly at all (maybe overworked and unmotivated??).

I dont know if this place is usually busy or not but we came in and had the whole place to ourselves which was nice, drink and breakfast were great and like the upper level seating, the one staff member was nice and made our larger order quickly .

Service wasn't super friendly, but great coffee and vibe. Perfect background music and great wifi. A hidden spot perfect to get some work done or chat with a friend.

Only been here a few times but it's been amazing!! Vivi recommended me the strawberry cheesecake matcha and I have never been so obsessed with a drink before! She also recommended the banana toast and it is a super nice balance with my strawberry cheesecake matcha. Will definitely keep coming here! (:
The service here was top notch. The girl working there was really nice and made my latte perfectly :3. I would definitely come here again with my girlies!

Honestly. Super disappointed. This place used to be good and feel nice. Cold Brew tasted no better than burnt coffee. Upstairs “was being cleaned”. I was charged $1.50 more than the menu price and was told “we just upped our prices but haven’t got new menus yet”.. rubbed me the wrong way. If I wanted coffee that tasted this mediocre, I would have gone to the Dunkin around the corner. Shame, because I used to love this place…
The balcony is quiet and cozy, great for a friendly catch up. Raheem is really accommodating to my food allergies, Vivi has great food and drinks recommends. They are both pretty nice!
The croissants were from the day before
Waited 40 minutes for coffee, staff didn’t take orders instead had a chat to each other ridiculous…
upstairs seating is lacking of ambiance, not the greatest studying/work place but theyve got wifi
