Original Chinatown's best. Definitely one of the best in NYC for Chinese food. If you don't know this place, you must try it. My favorite is their country duck, nothing but šŸ”„. They close early-ish so come early. They do get packed up so come early. Yummy spot. Good for all reasons. Great Asian style. Highly recommend this location, keep this place alive! If you don't know, now you know.

Its ChiuChow signature noodles dish tastes very plain. The ingredients themselves have their fishy taste, which is not good. The shop has sanitary concerns. This shop is not my cup of tea.

I loved the food and has been here many times, but this time one of the stuff was making us very uncomfortable regardless of us always showing respect for them.

Food was ok. Everything else is zero stars. Customer service is god awful and borderline hostile, feels like i was being chastised for coming into their restaurant. I had my table sauces taken away despite me protesting for unknown reasons. Found a piece of hair in my food. Cash only. Cashier demanded tipping, I tipped anyways because I don’t want to deal with them. Stay away

My go to place for comfort food in NYC. Their mushroom and duck noodle soup is what I get every time, and is a must try.

The noodles (Lai fun) are perfectly soft and chewy but the soup broth is addictive. Duck is flavor and tender.

This could have been an honest mistake but it was kind of too coincidental. The Math ain’t Mathing… see pic. The total was $57 and they taxed us 15% ($8.50) šŸ¤”. When I told the lady she acted surprised so I’m not sure what to believe. I would most definitely make sure to double check your bill. I will still go back because their food is just that good but their price is hefty and they are a Cash only establishment 😫.

The service attitude was terrible, and they forced us to pay a tip. I strongly advise everyone never to dine here.

The food was quite good, but I felt very disappointed when it came time to pay. They only accepted cash, added tax, and forced us to leave a tip before letting us leave the restaurant. I had already given them a $1 tip, but they insisted I give an additional $2 before allowing me to stand up and go. I have never experienced a place that pressures customers like this—truly unacceptable.

I had option number 2 and my partner option number 1. The number 1 was good and number 2 was okay.

The reason I’m giving this place one star is that they have the audacity to put tax on a cash only place and also the fact that after we pay cash and didn’t ask for any change one of the lady came up to us and request 3$ tip in front of everyone.

Horrible practice to force tip on your customer. Tip is a voluntarily done by the customer not force on them. Would not come back to this horrible place again.

Very old restaurant same location probably since 1980’s. We have been dining here since 1986.
Love their classic and very authentic dish especially braised dishes like ā€œduckā€&ā€chickenā€ cooked in traditional ā€œteowchewā€ style.
The only down side of this place is run down with their CLEANLINESS.
So sad…!! (See image)
Really hope the owner can notice the dirty and stained condiment containers on the table that need deep cleaning. The NY city health department has been very kind to your restaurant inspection.

The store is very different now. I grew up eating here and the food was much better and more portion a while back. Super little noodle now! The fishball also got very soft not as good.

The main problem is while we were pulling out to pay and tip .. a staff came over to our table and spoke very rude in mandarin chinese. She spoke very fast and loud reminding us there's tip policy here..like yes we know! We didn't even finish counting! We were counting our cash and she just want to shame on us for no reason..that's wen we feel very unwilling to tip them then. It was very disrespectful and mean.

Please change your attitude, get rid of the flies in there and not your damn fingers in our soup! Customers pay tip is not a problem but at least in a good atmosphere!

Awful service with rude staff. The food was bland at best. It is filling and cheap, but that’s about all it’s got going for it.
