Great spot, but actual marina has been closed for several years.
I have been jogging past the marina for 42 years. Before my time (1982) the marina had become a rent-controlled floating slum with sinking vessels and their entitled owners. The purpose of the marina was to allow people to dock there temporarily not to become a community of rent-controlled floating apartments. I am glad that the marina has been closed. It should now be dynamited and repurposed in a way that more than 20 people can enjoy.
Went to take pictures. Such a chill and relaxing spot. Definitely recommend going to clear your mind.
A nice peaceful spot on the Hudson River. Great views across to New Jersey. Plenty of water foul around the area too.
Probably my favorite place in New York. Such an amazing experience watching sunsets from here on the water with a beautiful view of the skyline.
An odd and interesting place. I have mostly visited via my kayaks or paddle board. I suppose my favorite time is in the warmer part of the year when sailboats are moored (mostly) north of the marina or those times when the Sloop Clearwater or some other impressive large craft is tied up there. We (being HarborLAB.org) have also stopped here regularly around dawn during our annual circumnavigation of Manhattan to go up into town for coffee and/or breakfast.
Great shot
On a hot day it's the only place to be.
Scenic spot on the West Side
Boats thinning out. E.g., trawler gone.
