Seems to be a common trait for old school “legacy” ish steakhouses to have that stuffy arrogance from the service staff. Nice authentic place with decent steaks. Nothing phenomenal.

One of my favourite steakhouse in New York. As always the food was delicious! We shared a variety of appetisers, including a shrimp salad, calamari, very tasteful bacon and mussels. Next I had a sizable bone-in ribeye which was so nice with the roquefort sauce in the side, accompanied by some side dishes like French fries, hashbrowns and spinach. Just loved it! Hoping to be back in the not too distant future!

My lady and I were looking for a nice steak house with a warm ambience and we were not disappointed. Walking in the host was very nice and we were seated promptly. The service was outstanding and that's an understatement, very respectful with nice banter and getting our food on a timely manner. We had the Calamari for starters and it was wonderful, and we had the porterhouse for two and it was cooked to perfection and nicely priced. The sides we ordered were perfect portions complimenting the steak nicely. The experience was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time.

Bobby Van's is consistently good and delivers a great meal every time. It is the ultimate business person's restaurant. The noise level is high, but not impossible. I throughly enjoyed my Veal Milanese. Portions are big, New York-style!

I ordered the rib eye and was shocked when it arrived just five minutes later — completely burnt, with no flavor at all. I called the restaurant to share my concern, and their response was dismissive: “This is the first complaint we’ve received, so there’s nothing we can do.” They did say that if I came back, they could “make it better” — but after paying $90 for a terrible steak and receiving zero accountability, there’s no chance I’m returning. Poor food quality, terrible customer service, and no effort to make things right.
