I ordered the rib eye and was shocked when it arrived just five minutes later — completely burnt, with no flavor at all. I called the restaurant to share my concern, and their response was dismissive: “This is the first complaint we’ve received, so there’s nothing we can do.” They did say that if I came back, they could “make it better” — but after paying $90 for a terrible steak and receiving zero accountability, there’s no chance I’m returning. Poor food quality, terrible customer service, and no effort to make things right.

Out of all the many steak houses in NY, this is by far my absolute favorite. My husband and friends are big steak eaters, where I am not which is one of the reason ms I love this place. My husband had the Ribeye, which he loved, my friends had the porterhouse, which they raved about, and I had the crab cakes and chilean sea bass which OMG. I cannot wait to go back. We also had the home fries, creamed spinach, and fried onions. Everything was amazing along with the service. Highly recommend!!!

We had a Morgan Stanley reunion at Bobby Vans on 54th street last week. 8/21/25. This was our third at this site. This reunion is for the employees who were at the World Trade Center on 9/11. So, it’s important for the attendees to feel comfortable and relaxed with each other and for the restaurant to seamlessly provide both food and service in a way that let us interact and enjoy each other’s company after all these years. They did that impeccably. The food is outstanding and the service was amazing. The front of the house did a wonderful job. There are many steak houses in New York, but if you’re in mid town east , definitely stop by Bobby Vans.

This is just hands down and amazing restaurants great for lunch for big meetings everything cooked to perfection the staff is amazing. The decor they MUST renovate. Its not a place I would take a date or a client from out of town. They need to do some remodeling.
