To sum it up, my first experience here was fantastic! I was really hungry and ordered way too much food, but it worked out nicely because now I have dinner for the next day. Everything was absolutely perfect, and it felt like a mini vacation enjoying that food today! I had four different kinds of crab (the Keep Calm and Crab On combo), the garlic toast and the lobster Mac and cheese. My friend had a shrimp and crab combo. I got the mildly spicy version of the Boilery signature flavor, which is a combination of three flavors on the menu. I got the mild heat, but I think next time I'll go a tad bit hotter because I love to have a good kick in the sauce - regardless, the sauce was super delicious.Service was friendly, social distancing is enforced inside and outside, and it all made for a very nice dinner experience.

Truly disappointed.. maybe my expectations were to high?? The sauce was so salty. The seafood was cold. I just.. idk do better next time . Cute presentation though.

The waitress we had barely spoke English, which I'm ok with if you're trying. A person at my table ordered a dry rub 2lb of crab with butter on the side, the waitress brought a garlic butter 2lb crab..which is understandable accidents happen. But she began to lie and say that it was dry..even though it was clearly wet. So we just switched it with another person at our table who had ordered it. The waitress comes the correct dry rub and says to PAYING CUSTOMER "Is it dry enough for you?"We had a 9 pm reservation, the restaurant closes at 10. We sat down around 9:03..and began eating around 9:40ish. While I'm eating CRAB..she brings the bill..my hands are messy..I'm busy. Everyone is still eating. I wasnt going in my pocket with garlic butter on my hands to then count money. I told her to leave the bill...she came back three more times. Circling our table like a vulture. The bill was 423.57. I counted incorrectly and paid 423..simple mistake. The waitress rushes out and starts arguing about 57 cents..mind you I was giving her a dollar..even though everyone at the table told me to make her take it out of her tip ...she was still arguing for NO REASON.The bar..the bartender was so backed up the waitress told us no drinks..also mocktails which are on the menu were not available. The food. Not bad. King Crab is delicious. The lobster mac and cheese is just pasta in cheese sauce. The waffle fries were delicious. The shrimp also great. All in all. Don't waste your time going out of your way, if you're in the area..that's fine. The Boil on 17 Waverly Place is much better wait staff..more friendly..more polite, and the food is my opinion is better.

Seafood and the setting at this place is super good. Staff treated us so nice. Prices were fair for the quality of the food.

We have eaten at Boilery several times. Most recently we wanted seafood as a change of pace, so I called. The crab cakes and cod fish basket were great. I saw they have grill which I really wanted. The crab cakes and shrimp basket were great and generous. However my branzino "whole fish" was split open and grilled so dry that it was inedible. not only that but the bones which usually come out easily were stuck to the flesh. Eating at home this evening was disappointing. Stick to their specialties.

so my latest food mission is to try all (most) of the seafood boil like places that have been popping up in Brooklyn and Manhattan. I believe they have existed for years in places like Flushing but as of the last 2 years, I see them popping up like hot cakes. I didn't partake in the boil option here but my friend said it was decent. (the gold standard for her is The boil.) I do like the happy hour here and the drinks are soju based and craft well. They also have happy hot food here and I highly recommend making a reservation prior to coming. I would love to come back here for happy hour!

My favorite place in the l.e.s for a boil! Great drink menu pairings with seafood options. Surprisingly affordable. Great all around experience dining in or taking out.

Came here a few weeks ago with my friends for lunch. I had the lunch special with Clams and Shrimp. The sauce was just the right amount of spice but I wasn't a big fan of the clams. The texture of them is a little off putting. Service was good and quick, so no complaints there.

UPDATE: I haven't had a chance to come back since the soft opening. However, I'm happy to see that so many people are coming to this place!! We made a reservation a week prior for a table of 4 at 630 pm on a Friday night. They have happy hour Monday-Friday until 7pm. Most of the appetizers are $8 so we got fried calamari to start with. We were waiting for our friends to come but they let us sit first and order, super nice. Once we got our calamari, we put some lemon and dipped it into the marinara sauce, which was kind of spicy. We ordered the same thing for the entree, Fisherman's combo cause it was SO flavorful last time. Instead of a plastic bag like the soft opening had/other boil's I've been to, the food came in a BEAUTIFUL PLATTER. It showcased all the corn, rice cake, potatoes, crab, and shrimp. Shared among 2 people again and it was still so filling. Only thing I would say is the gloves were huge on me so it got messy. When I told the waiter, he gave me fitted rubber black gloves which were SO MUCH BETTER. The service here Is amazing and I would recommend again and again. A continuous shout out to Kevin too for making us feel like home.

I had some time to kill before meeting up with some friends so I decided to enjoy their happy hour specials. I ordered the oysters and fish tacos, each $8. Both were delicious - the oysters and accoutrements were fresh and the fried fish tacos were crispy but not too oily. I thought the oysters, for their quality, were a very good deal at 6 for $8. The fish tacos were a little on the expensive side especially for a happy hour special at $4 each (other places offer similar or better quality for less). The service was also excellent. I was seated promptly, my food was brought out quickly, refills were fast and empty plates were removed quickly. I would definitely come back and try more of their food.

Excellent, Excellent, Excellence! We dined here for my birthday eve and from the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted with great hospitality. We sat at the bar because every seat was filled, and I am glad we did. We had the chance to spend time with the fabulous bartender Susan. She made the best Mojito and Moscow Mule. She was friendly, engaging, and totally made our evening. I had the most delicious Broiled Atlantic Salmon, and it was so yummy. I also enjoyed the wonderful tasting Fried Calamari. At the end of my meal, I was served a lovely birthday surprise. This is one restaurant I will visit again and again. This is how you do great customer service. Thank you Boilery East Village for a wonderful dining experience.

I had a craving for seafood while in NY and visited Yelp for suggestions. I found this place and we tried it. It is a cute sort of upscale seafood boil spot that also has some other options. The seafood sauces were delicious and thick, not watery like a lot of other places. The service was really good. The entire team was helpful and checked on us frequently. The only complaints I had were that the place does not have a full bar so no cocktails, and the potatoes and corn were too crispy, not steamed well enough.

I went to a similar type restaurant in San Diego & so was expecting delicious, fresh, steaming garlicky seafood in a plastic bag. This place is a little different, you choose your sauce and spice level. We had a long wait for our food, but the waitress did say it may be a longer wait bc they had to 'defrost' the scallops. At least she was honest. We ordered the shrimp and scallop boil w/ butter garlic sauce, spicy. It also had potatoes, corn on the cob and cylinder shaped rice cakes. The sauce was very heavy and on the thick side. And it was a dark pink color (butter + garlic is not pink, but maybe it changed bc of the peel-on shrimp?) It was very garlicky and the seafood was definitely 'coated' in sauce. They prepare you w/ plastic bibs, gloves and towelettes. Overall, it was ok. The sauce was too heavy for me. I also thought the rice cakes were weird in this dish; like it was a filler to make it look like a lot of food. It already has potatoes, a 2nd carb was too much. One good thing, they have Hite on draft (a great light Korean beer).
