Way too much spicy for a medium spicy kadai and roganjosh, i said medium spicy, and the food what they reserve was more then madras and vindalo spice and too much masala’s inside, my stomach is burning, and by bill they added extra 20% gratis charges, i have given them cash tipp and they added 20% extra on total bill without informing us, we where just 2 persons to eat. Uncertified with service and charges, i said to them that i have ordered a medium spicy food and they said that that chilli what they use is extremely spicy!!!!! What!!!😂 then use less chillis 🌶️ if the chillis are extremely spicy 🌶️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ bad experience🤮🤧

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant and would not recommend it. I specifically asked for medium food, but what I received was extremely spicy and difficult to eat. When I mentioned this to the staff, they showed no concern and made no effort to fix the issue. It felt like they didn’t care about customer satisfaction at all.

To make matters worse, an automatic gratuity was added to the bill, even though the service was poor. I believe tipping should be based on the quality of service, not forced onto customers. Overall, the lack of care, poor service, and unexpected charges made this a terrible dining experience. I will not be returning.

Please beware of this restaurant!!!!!!!!!! I recently dined here and was very disappointed. Despite specifically requesting a medium spice level, the food was extremely spicy and barely edible. When I brought this up, the staff didn’t seem willing to address the issue. To make things worse, a gratuity charge was added to the bill without any prior mention.Transparency and customer satisfaction should be a priority, but unfortunately, that was not the case here. I won’t be returning.

Came here with high hopes based on the Google rating. Ordered the old Delhi butter chicken thinking I would be able to experience a taste of home but was sorely disappointed.
We were served chicken tikka masala and when I asked for the butter chicken instead, the OWNER said it’s actually the same thing.
We asked for proper butter chicken and the owner brought back the same chicken tikka masala with more butter in it.

Absolutely disappointed. Embarrassing to put something like “Old Delhi butter chicken” on the menu only to serve sweet chicken tikka masala which tastes like it is from a can.

Went here for dinner after looking at such high reviews, and it was not that great. Food was OK but it was not worth of 4.7 stars. Some of the items like gobi pop were good. Few of the items we ordered : Dosa lacked salt and sambhar over spicy . Malai kofta was disappointing but Kadai paneer was good. ambience is different and nice. Overall its just another average Indian Restaurant .

While in NYC we had a craving for Indian food, and Bombay Chowk was a great choice.

The Indian restaurants we are used to have spiciness scales when ordering, but at Bombay Chowk the food is prepared at set levels of spice.

My wife had the chicken Tikka Masala and it was slightly sweet. Still flavorful and tasty.

I opted for chicken Vindaloo and the server warned me it would be spicy. Thankfully I’m used to spicy Vindaloo and oh boy did it pack a punch. Very flavorful, the sauce was thick and more like a stew than a curry. The chicken was cooked well and not dry.

All in all, it’s a solid option for Indian food in NYC.

This place serves depressing Indian food. Living in NY, never come across anything this sad. To start with one of their fish furries have no spices whatsoever. The white rice it came with was cold! We ordered 4 items and none of them were upto the mark. The Biryani didn't seem to be fresh at all. Nobody even cross checked after serving and were busy 'explaining' or rather selling their menu to the new arrived customers. It's probably the ambience people are confused with/ the interiors?
