Well, it was a last-ditch attempt to find somewhere to eat when the other place (still appearing in GMaps and Google) turned out to have closed months ago. We did not get off to a good start when I ordered a Negroni from the menu which turned out to be Negroni WINE, not a proper Negroni because they only have a wine and beer license. The people there are sweet, but the restaurant has a cavernous feel to it and the food was a bit indifferent. Good salad as I recall but pizza (Quattro stagione) was meh.

Two visits. First visit great service. Ordered a pizza which was wonderful. Second visit. Lousy service. Took forever to get my drink delivered and when I tried to get the attention of one of the servers he looked right at me and walked away. So frustrating. Finally, I had to get up and go get my server. He had been delivering checks to tables and such. This was a Thursday night.

This visit I ordered the gnochi. It was good but not great. The pasta seemed a little over cooked.

The food was great, pasta was light and perfectly cooked. Enjoyed the beet salad and the veggie pizza was stellar. Couple the food with an upbeat atmosphere and our wonderful wait staff this will definitely be on our list to revisit.

Bono? More like Oh-no I’m gonna be here every night! $5 glasses of wine during happy hour? Don’t mind if I do! Really enjoyed the lemon and spinach fettuccini. All the employees were very kind and attentive. I’ll definitely be back!

Spanish, Great service, Delightful staff and owner! The food is amazing, from pizza to pork chops, salad and drinks! As I noticed a diverse crowd, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and polite and respectful to each other ?! Can't wait to go back! Had an amazing time with my 2 great friends!

Vegetarian options: Look up the menu before you go!

Kid-friendliness: There were kids there, it's not a running around kind of place, but the kids were well behaved and well attended too.

Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, no stairs, low tables and space to maneuver around. Also outdoor seating available.

Returning to Harlem after fifteen years, mostly abroad, my wife and I weren't sure what we would find when someone recommended Bono Trattoria on Broadway at 151st Street. It just didn't seem the kind of neighborhood where you would find a good Italian restaurant. How wrong we were! Every other ethnic eatery in New York claims to have the most authentic food, but this one was a standout, from the roast beet and goat cheese salad to the perfectly charred thin-crust pizza with fresh mozzarella and fragrant basil. And did we mention the happy-hour prosecco for $7, and beers for $5? Chief among this place’s charms is the huge wood-fired oven right in the middle of the restaurant; another is the welcoming family vibe, heightened by the fact that the owner was right there in the dining area, helping to serve guests, and that her husband is the bartender. Speaking of service: when Adam, our server, found out that we were celebrating an anniversary, he quietly arranged for a surprise on the house. Another thing that stood out: everyone on the wait staff was not only courteous but also seemingly happy to be working there, even though the place was packed (on a Monday night!). Actually, that shouldn’t have surprised us, given that the food was better than anything we’ve had in Manhattan for the same or similar price. Good restaurants sell good food, otherwise they wouldn’t survive – not in this market. But Bono Trattoria is superior, and again, the ambience and atmosphere make it a standout. Come see for yourself.

Bono is this kind of place where you can relax and enjoy affordable Italian food. I love to eat brunch here. My favorite dishes are di buffalo avocado toast and strazzapreti allá Norcina. I love to finish with a cup of americano ?.

The food is excellent. The staff even more! My daughters enjoyed the pasta, spaghetti and macaroni bolognese and the pizzas we took home for dinner the other days. And especially the attention of the waiters, Pepe and everyone else. Thank you very much for your details.
