When we arrived for our lunch reservation, we were told that the entire dining was being used to film a Real Housewives episode. If we wanted to sit in the dining room we would 1) have to consent to being filmed and 2) sign a very long legalistic waiver agreement or sit in the bar area. Not sure why Bottino didn't notify those who had a lunch reservation that this was happening or make better accommodations to those who had lunch reservations. Not a great way to handle this kind of situation as it felt like diners were not given any priority to a film crew!

Bottino is our neighborhood go-to whether just we two or meeting friends. We can count on a warm greeting, quick service of a solid cocktail and an efficiently-served menu that has something for everyone. So many places have come and gone, but we're grateful Bottino is here to stay!

A hidden gem I think should remain hidden as the charm is overwhelming and would not like that to be destroyed! Arguably the best Cacio Pepe in the city and the environment is so calm, especially the courtyard.

Had a wonderful dinner with my daughters a month or so ago. I am so late with my reviews! I go to the city often as i have 2 daughters living there now. Bottino was such a great find! So close to Hudson Yards, thus very convenient for us. Such a lovely , spacious restaurant with nice atmosphere and a lovely wine list. Everything we had was delicious, from the shareable size salad and burrito to the artichokes and then the homemade pasta. The sommelier was delightful and helpful. Can't wait to return for Mother's Day,

Our dinner at Bottino stands out as one of the best I've ever had. The mezzo luna pasta was extraordinary, likewise the bronzino. Service was great, beautiful room, aesthetic but not at all pretentious. I'm ready to go back already.

Had a fantastic dinner here by chance after attending an event at a gallery nearby. It was such an amazing surprise. This is not just a neighborhood restaurant. It is worth traveling for. The Cacio E Pepe is the best I've ever had a pork ragu special was also incredible. It is rare to get pasta that is as good as what you can find in Italy but Bottino did it. Anthony has an amazing ability to make everyone feel like a friend. He is an amazing host, spent a lot of time joking with us and letting us taste wines until we found the one we liked. And sent us a plate of artichokes, which were spectacular. The arancini were delectable. I be making a trip back here for sure.

Hidden gem. Great garden in back on a spring or summer day.

The servers and staff were lovely. Fabulous atmosphere. The food was lacking in substance, flavor and character. They could’ve been too busy for their cooks to take care of each plate. They made up for it by being apologetic and and kind

Overall the food was delicious. The apps were yummy. My boar shank was excellent although the meat was tepid and risotto was piping underneath. BUT the pepper in the cavatelli was a bit over powering even after I asked if it was hot as it was for my fiancee. Shes not a fan of spicy. It still left a tingle on my tongue and I enjoy a little heat. Kinda ruined the dish. In spite of the chefs heavy hand with the black pepper.. I would recommend this restaurant.

TLDR: Do not go to this restaurant! Food lacked flavour. Our group got 2 appetizers, the squid ink pasta and bolognese, desserts (tiramisu and something else), 2 bottles of wine. The squid ink pasta lacked seasoning and the pasta was undercooked. Also, it is not a real squid ink sauce, it is store bought squid ink infused pasta. Aside from the food, this was the worst service i’ve ever received. The waiters were great, however the manager of the restaurant ruined our experience. He was rude and inappropriate on multiple occasions. When the waiters got my order wrong due to a pasta change i requested for the squid ink, he firstly did not explain that their staff were unaware that such changes could be made, but he continued with a very abrasive tone in stating how i was wrong in placing the wrong order. Subsequently, he instructed me to let the others at my table know they should start eating since it will take a while. You just don’t do that with guests, totally unacceptable service. After which, when i purchased some cupcakes to celebrate our friend’s birthday at the restaurant. He proceeded to scold and lecture my friend and I for bringing outside food in, although we received candles and a lighter from the waitstaff. He even wanted to charge us an extra $5/pax for the outside desserts. And this is after the fact we spent $675 on all the items at the restaurant. Totally unbelieveable and unaccommodating and rude.

Flavorless, Expensive, and small portion sizes for the food. Our group got 2 appetizers, the squid ink pasta and bolognese, desserts (tiramisu and something else), 2 bottles of wine. Hosted a small bridal shower at Bottino and everything (and everyone) was outstanding. The event team was always responsive and very accommodating. The service was amazing, the food was excellent. The staff on the day of the shower were all gracious and helpful, could not have chosen a better venue.
