Boucherie is always a hit, the West Village location did not disappoint. We ended up a larger party than our reservation and were very lucky they could accommodate, given the line at the door on a Wednesday. I think this location gets busier than Union Square, also a little smaller, but still a few hundred. We were seated upstairs overlooking the whole restaurant, which is wonderfully decorated for the holidays, albeit somewhat early in the season. Great people watching and the ambiance was off the charts. In my opinion, Boucherie is a French Steakhouse, not a French restaurants offering steak. That said, they do everything wonderfully. Salads are light and airy, though adequate to split, especially if going heavy on the entree. The Tomahawk for two is the move, comes with a couple of sides of your choice but get the Brussel sprouts and celery root gratin. Also, it fed three people, though one was a child. Have had better profiteroles but the chocolate mousse was excellent. Service was very good, not quite excellent. Waiters are top notch, busboys could be more friendly. Overall, while not the best steakhouse or french restaurant, one of the best at straddling those two categories. I'll be back for sure.

I love all the Boucherie restaurants. The 7th Av restaurant was all decked out for Christmas and wonderfully festive. Our waiter was very accommodating, allowing us to enjoy our cocktails before dinner without pushing us to order. We started with a Caesar salad that was classic and excellent. The beef bourguignon was flavorful, tender and delicious, and the steak tartare perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of tanginess. It's a very welcoming space — can't wait to go back.

This place is amazing! Very pretty with Christmas decorations, very cozy ambiance, it's a little crowded but it's cozy at the same time.... The service was perfection. Our waiter was super super gentle and very attentive on us but not annoying attentive. The food is for sure 10/10. The place it was full when we arrived but the food was very fast honestly. We didn't have a reservation and we waited for about 5 min for a table.

Food was very disappointing and very bland on Sunday night. The tartare was under seasoned yet also overwhelmed by cornichon. Escargot had a very dull taste. The confit de canard was thoroughly dried and over cooked with skin that I repeatedly confused for bone fragments. The French manhattan cocktail was ok but couldn’t taste any lavender. Malbec and Cabernet franc tasted watery. Not one to complain about portions at a nice place but $20 for two bites of cheesecake is a bit much. For a place that calls themselves boucherie they are very bad at cooking meat. Also the tables are tiny and not good for more than 2 people but the menus are also comically large and take up most of the table.
