Went to Break Bar for a post-work celebration that was perfectly planned by a colleague after a very intense work event. Itâs the perfect place for a group to come together, grab drinks and let off some steam! Hence the name, Break Bar!!
The front portion of Break Bar on 9th Ave in New York is classic bar, but the plot twist is that in addition to drinks, you can purchase buckets of glass for varying prices to break! You are given safety glasses to use for protection for when you enter the back portion of Break Bar, where you get to let it out on a series of images ranging from a variety of public figures.
The room is small, dark and thereâs a barrier between you and what youâre throwing glass at. You can throw the glass as hard as you want, which is part of the âfunâ! Releasing your tensions and frustrations by breaking glass is one way to have some âfunâ! After a few moments, youâre back to the bar!
If only there was food. Otherwise itâs a cool concept & something different to do. If youâve had a rough day or just need to release tension grab a drink & some glass & eye glasses & go for it!! Responsibly and safely.
The vibe and decor work for the concept. Loved the broken records and broken glass art accent the walls.

Not only is the barâs concept insanely fun (where else can you literally smash your drink glass after youâre done with it?!), but Shannon takes the whole experience to another level.
After rinsing your glass, you get to head to the throwing range and hurl it at targets with wild images â itâs oddly therapeutic and seriously fun. Shannon kept the energy high all night, crafting perfect drinks and hyping everyone up like a pro. Sheâs friendly, fast, and genuinely makes you feel like a VIP.
Between the creative cocktails and the glass-smashing chaos, this place is a total vibe â and Shannon is the glue that holds it all together. Highly recommend!

Good concept but it drops there. We got a âbar snackâ for $8; half a ramekin of jarred Tostitos salsa & broken, stale pieces of tortilla chips. Our $14 pickle backs tased like watered down pickle juice, no bourbon at all. As someone whoâs in the industry itâs clear management is missing opportunities here. We wouldâve done another round of smashing, 3 buckets for $35, if we had a decent snack & drink to hold us over. Also as Covid ramps up again I hope they consider precautions such as sanitizing the buckets, bottles & safety goggles. Probably wonât be back :/.
Don't worry about that's breakable everything is! You can drink all the drinks you want fill out the waiver and unload some stress by shattering in the shatter zone area. It's a cool vibe spot to checkout and enjoy.
