Let me start by saying I ordered from the wrong Brooklyn Dumpling shop. I live on the upper east side but I accidentally ordered from the shop on the lower east side (both next to 1st ave).
Customer service- 5 stars
The owner was there(Alvin), he called the store on the lower east side, had them refund the order and then prepared my order at his shop(upper east side). (Excellent customer service) I would return for that alone.
Food- 5 stars
I had the firecracker tempura shrimp. One word ' Tasty'. Excellent shop if you want a quick bite or a full meal. Will definitely repeat
I had the korean spice shrimp tempura bites, blistered edamame, and the dragon fruit berry drink. Everything was delicious and the service was great!
Ordered a bao bun bites combo which should come with 2 buns but there was only 1. The bao itself was pretty good.
The wagyu beef dumplings were very average. Definitely not worth $8 for 5 small dumplings.
The boba is actually bad. The pearls are hard, not chewy at all with no flavor. The milk tea itself was very watery.
Would not recommend, but if you do go, only the bao buns were alright as long as you get how many you ordered.
The experience was just okay overall. Ordering through the self-serve kiosks was convenient and straightforward, which is a plus.
However, the cleanliness of the store left a bit to be desired, it could definitely use more attention. The staff was friendly and helpful, which helped balance things out.
As for the food, the dumplings were average, not bad, but not particularly memorable either. Given the quality, the prices felt a bit steep. It's a decent spot if you're curious, but not necessarily somewhere I'd go out of my way to revisit.
Very underwhelming. I find most of the dumplings have very thick skins and the filling is just OK. Seems like more of a gimmick than anything. I’ve tried both locations.
dumplings are tasty, but expensive a bit
Absolutely fantastic food! This is a must if you visit NYC! Highly recommend and the service was amazing! Best dumplings I have ever had!!!!
Awesome food and service. Saw a story on TV about the shop and tried it out. Wonderful food and service. Worth the trip. 😀 Wife and son had a great experience also. Can’t wait for the shop to get to Atlanta. ❤️
Dont bother. Mediocre food. Very SLOOOOOOW service with 1 other customer. Price listed in the store is different than when you go to pay. Pricey. Not a good value.
