Let me start by saying - we met Vikas Khanna and that was awesome. He came and served us also met us at the entrance, very very down to earth and good to talk to. Unfortunately, cannot say the same about the staff. We were asked 3 times if we had reservation and it felt weird. The food was really below average except the daal which was good but extremely heavy on cream. The seekh kabab was served with ketchup and I come from Lucknow where that would be considered blasphemy. The kulfi was really bad and falooda was probably replaced with el Dante pasta. Overall, my suggestion is that if you want to go there to take a selfie with Vikas or probably sit next to Anurag Kashyap then this is the place to go to. But if you are looking for good food, go someplace else. Sorry - I really did have higher expectations but ended up being disappointed.

We went for the hype but definitely not worth it and disappointed by the quality. I could find better quality at mediocre restaurants.
We ordered fish tikka 2/5 old fish tasteless and had lot of chutneys on it
Chicken tikka 2/5 big 4 pieces again not what you expect tikka to be
Drinks 3/5
For main we had
Biryani 3.5/5
Dal 4/5
Rita
Butter roti
There was nothing that gave wow factor. Totally ordinary.

I heard that it’s really hard to get reservations but I luckily snag one. My fav appetizer is the shrimp. The railway chicken curry is the best dish. I was disappointed with roasted pineapple, nothing special. The rose ice cream is the highlight!

Bungalow was amazing! The comfortable seats and the wonderful music set up the mood for a great experience. The welcoming pumpkin soup was really nice. We all loved the yogurt kebabs, Anarkali chicken, and Ammi's lamb chops! The five cheese Kulcha , pineapple curry, rose falooda and the molten chocolate cake were also delicious! Even my son who is extremely picky and hardly eats Indian food loved the food. Service was also great! We were just sad that Vikas Khanna wasn't there the day we went. Don't hesitate to reserve there and have a great time at Bungalow!

Amazing experience with outstanding service and some of the best Indian food we have had. For starters, this was my first Indian food after spending a month in India. Everything was perfect. The cocktails are unique and flavorful, and the entire staff is incredibly attentive to your every need.
Our favorite dish was hands down the daal makhni, which is the best we have ever had and we are still dreaming of it months later. This was extra special because we didn’t order it but Chef Vikas Khanna was giving a taste of it to us to celebrate our first visit at Bungalow. Each dish we ordered (yogurt kebab, anarkali chicken, alleppey shrimp curry) was flavorful, unique, beautifully plated and just delicious.
This is hands down the best high end Indian dining experience in Manhattan right now. Bungalow is well worth the hype and price!
P. S. I know reservations are difficult, we snagged a last minute late night reservation on a rainy day. I think it was like 9:45 or 10pm, which is late but was so worth it!

Easily the best Indian food I’ve had in America! What more needs to be said?

The food was excellent, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was great. The staff was genuinely friendly and attentive. It’s definitely a place worth visiting at least once.
The only downside was the spending policy. For our group of eight, we were asked to preorder and meet a minimum of $100 per person. When one person had to cancel due to an emergency, we were still required to meet the $800 total. After each course, the attendant reminded us that we hadn’t ordered enough to reach the minimum and encouraged us to add more. It felt pushy. We were already completely full but still had to order additional dishes just to meet the target. That was frustrating and left a disappointing final impression (bad taste in the mouth).

Yogurt kebab is must try, it's mind blowing.
Achari stuffed paneer was decent.
If you like pineapple and kadhi, you will like pineapple curry.
Daal banglow is really good.
Cheese naan is amazing and so was lachha paratha (it didn't had strong mint flavour but it's for better though).
They gave complementary pumpkin soup which was suprisingly good.
For all 3 dessert,
Mango dessert was the weakest, it is still worthy to be recommended.
Chocolate will have second place. It was little dry for my liking but that's just my personal opinion.
First one has to go to rose kulfi falooda. It was fantastic.

The food was decent, nothing extraordinary — but the vibe, hospitality, and interiors were absolutely lovely. Definitely worth a one-time visit.
