Great place for lunch or dinner. The restaurant went through a long renovation and it looks fantastic. The food is as wonderful as it always was. You can't beat the mussels with white wine and shallots.
Came in for an unplanned dinner. Walked out wow-d! I had a salad and my husband had the duck. We didn't partially expect anything special, but everything was absolutely delicious! I don't usually love salads but this one floored me. And the salmon was cooked to perfection, that we felt the need to ask our server how it was made. Absolutely delish. We live close by and will certainly return.
Interior refresh looks great. Food is solid and the service gracious. My two complaints - noise level very high due to DJ and wine list has too few affordable options. Cheapest Chardonnay is $70?
We had an extremely disappointing experience here because the duck l’orange was served practically raw and there was no sauce to enjoy with it. I asked the server to cook the duck and please provide the sauce. It was like a watery orange juice with no flavor. The vegetables were served extremely sparingly. The service was really bad. I couldn’t believe that the bartender as he was serving drinks was eating french fries with his fingers and licking his fingers and serving drinks. It was shocking and clearly a health hazard. There was a snobby and rude waitress who ignored us.
I imagine that the cook is not French because this is not an authentic French restaurant. We will never return to this uncomfortable restaurant.

We went specifically for the bitterballen. The texture was perfect but there was something missing in the flavor. Also, I would prefer that they not each be served sitting on mustard. I would rather have the option to dip them myself.

The meals at this spot have me hooked. Tasty food comes with outstanding service quality. Their food shows careful consideration, with excellent texture and innovative approaches. The staff's service aligned perfectly with the establishment's caliber. We'll surely return here!

This place has been a hidden gem with great food for decades. Recent renovation replaced the wood bar with laminate “metal” sheeting (why), and added fluorescent lighting, which unfortunately stripped a lot of the charm and old school cool from this restaurant. It reads cheap now. Fortunately the food is still good, but I won’t be bringing friends here anymore for the vibes.

They just re-opened and seemed a bit short staffed, as it took a long time for us to get started. Once we finally ordered though, food was good and staff was nice. Biggest issue is they added automatic gratuity for our party of 7. That's fine except it was not pointed out clearly, and receipt still asked for a tip based on the new total, so we tipped 20% twice, for almost $200. Contacted the restaurant to point out our error and ask for 2nd tip to be refunded but have not received a response. 10/15/25 Update: I received a refund for the 2nd tip and have updated my ratings accordingly. Thank you!
Not what is used to be, extremely poor service and plenty of better spots to choose from

Very forgettable. Nice draft beer selection and very overpriced. Food was very ordinary. For a restaurant that advertises itself as Belgian they should be able to at minimum offer an authentic onion soup.

I loved BXL Zoute (it was a local favorite when I lived in the neighborhood), so I was a little worried when they re-opened as Le Bistroquet that it wouldn't have the same food and charm that kept me going back again and again. I couldn't have been more wrong. It's still has lovely, lively atmosphere, and all my favorites. It does get a little loud inside when they're at capacity, but the new cafe seating in front is great and gives a real European al-fresco vibe. The steak tartare and bitterballen are still outstanding. The wine list isn't overbearing, with a good selection of both bottles and pours by the glass. The croque monsier was as comforting as always, and burger was better than ever. I can't wait to go back for some mussels!
Absolute hidden gem. Best mussels, attentive service, fun atmosphere, and fantastic Belgian beer selection, served in appropriate glassware. A regular on my circuit and consistently delightful.

This restaurant is currently under renovation is was not open when we arrived—it should probably be removed from OpenTable for the time being.
The bad reviews must be from very picky people. The employees offer superior service quickly with extraordinary dishes. We prefer this spot for our family outings. Their meals showcase in-season ingredients at peak freshness. I'm drawn to this restaurant and believe you will be too.
