Top-tier drinks in a phenomenal location across from Seward Park. Top 5 drip coffee in LES area. Large selection of beans, which are highly traceable and sourced from all over the world. Large selection of African country coffee. The storefront is tiny, and doesn’t cater well to seating, but it feels neighborhoody and cute. Usuals come in for a few minutes and chat. Baristas tend to be friendly and quirky. Coffee . Everything else score: 4.5/5. Overall score: 4.5/5.

they ran out of oat milk which .. valid - but my latte was still over $7 with regular milk? it was mediocre for the price and not worth the rude barista interaction. tried to laugh with him about running out of oat milk and it was like trying to humor a prison guard. he begrudgingly put my drink out without saying anything. weird vibes. service workers definitely do not owe customers sunshine and rainbows but his standoffishness was off-putting.

I prefer the location in Greenpoint because there's more seating but this is a good coffee shop if you're in the surrounding area!

This was my go to spot for a bit but the guy that works the afternoons is terribly rude. like shocking. sad for him tbh but also not worth dealing with that energy when i can go to so many other places.

Awful rude staff. Go to any of the dozens of code shops in the area. Coffee is good but others have caught up making going here not

Pretty cool spot for a refresher. I saw the pumpkin spice latte, but decided to trust my asian blood and get a matcha cider fusion drink. It's actually good because the cider cancels out a lot of the matcha's bitterness. It's indoors with AC and the market has free AC so it's slightly better than Starbucks or some bougie street cafe. Definitely feel less grumpy after having a drink here. No lines and quick service. Maybe I'll try the apple cider slushy when my blood sugar is lower?!

If the manager ( lady ) or the guy with curly hair take care of you will be and amazing service. But if the BOLD GUY sell anything to you check the prices because he changes the prices and he is rude. Small cooffee size for $7
A great coffee (and tea) shop! Always unique offerings (a blackberry latte eg, excellent) and alm the usuals very well done. Small comfortable quiet friendly place in the Essex Market. Brooklyn origin, a few of them now, thankfully.

Really good coffee. When I'm in the city, I always go to a Cafe Grumpy. I have tried Blue Bottle and a few others, but nothing is better than Grumpy.

Very small cafe- there's barely any space, and if there's more than 5 people inside then it's a crowd. You basically order and go about your way. I got an iced honey oat latte ($7.35 including tax). The taste has a roasted flair, but not too strong. The consistency is smooth and not watered down. The prices here are on the expensive end.

Overpriced, bland basic ice tea; barista has a bad attitude; atmosphere is cramped and unwelcoming. Stay away.
