A wonderful cafe with an equally wonderful mission, but today’s experience fell short. This is the second time I’ve tried their matcha latte, and both times the lattes were lukewarm, with little to no matcha taste. It tasted like milky water. The employee who I spoke to when I asked if I could get a new latte made or at least get more matcha powder added to my drink was very apologetic and respectful. However, the manager (?) who made my drink saw our interaction and asked me, “what’s the problem” in a rude tone. She took my cup, added more matcha, and handed it back to me without saying anything or even looking at me. The employee I was initially speaking to once again apologized, which I appreciated. I love coming here to support, but that employee/manager made me feel very unwelcome.

I came here because reviews raved about how the atmosphere is great to get work done. However, it was a little too loud for me. The music was blasting and everyone behind the counter was singing loudly. It’s great for someone that wants a pick me up on a gloomy day but not for someone that needs a conducive cafe atmosphere to get work done. I got a macchiato here that was too bitter for my taste but they have a good selection of good and treats.

Stumbled across this amazing cafe during our NYC trip while searching for a place to have breakfast. Super friendly staff, great atmosphere and fantastic food. Totally recommend the egg and cheese buns.

Nice premises and people. Childish concept and not a good coffee spot, but it could be a convenient spot for quick sandwich cookie or croissant. For one of their signature sandwiches cashier had to check and see if there were any left…at 12:30pm. Didn’t look like they were busy enough to sell out of anything and definitely not making sandwiches fresh. My cheese was nicely melted the ham was refrigerator cold. Nobody seems to know what they are doing. One lady eating her lunch visibly in the “kitchen area”…(maybe that is why they are running out of stuff? ) Nicest people so I hate to post this but somebody should do some staff training because I think they were really trying.

Good cause, very helpful and patient staff, good coffee, good service, environmental (reusable drinkware if you stay), very good-looking fluffy egg sandwich I will need to try next time!

There are both indoor and outdoor seating.

Note: despite the Lexington Ave address, the coffee shop is located on 52nd St, between Lexington and 3rd Ave, it is much closer to Lexington Ave than 3rd Ave -- hope that helps. It'd be hard to miss the bright yellow decoration.
