NO OUTLETS!!
At least thats what they told me, it looked like a scenic cafe near columbias campus that lots of students frequent with good outdoor seating. But it seems they refuse to provide outlets so that they could a be study hub with their late hours - shame.

Very average turkey brie sandwich with just two slices of store bought turkey. Benedict was ok.
Great for drinks, tea/coffee, and pastries. Incredibly nice staff as well.

There is no friendly vibe here from the staff. The owner is not friendly. I do not recommend it.

I stop this morning for a coffee with my uncle who is in old age.
After we ordered the payment was not processed (by the lady who was serving) three times because she wanted a tip.
I asked if it’s mandatory and she said no.
After the payment go through she started talking and saying that i am a bad person because i am not letting a tip.
I will never go in this place again.
The staff and service sucks!

Would not recommend, if I could give negative star review I would. The food and coffee and overpriced and not good. The cashier is extremely rude, the “barista” does not know how to make a drink or sanitation. He cleaned the counter with the same rag he used for coffee. I would recommend avoiding this place.

Used to be well liked before covid with quiche and other hot plates at reasonable prices. Now the breakfast options are limited to a few bagels and pastries on weekdays or an expensive brunch on weekends that is so crowded you can forget about finding a place to sit. The barista is clueless with no idea what the muffins or scones contain. Prices are up 50% in five years (yes I keep records of every place I eat in). There are much better options for breakfast on Columbus or Amsterdam.

Warning: if you are hungry you will have to wait 30 minutes to get a sandwich. (When we checked on our order with the woman at the counter, she said the cook was “working on it” without actually checking with him. Turns out the cook missed our order. He was very kind and apologized when we went directly to him.)
Good coffee, food, and awesome tv to watch some soccer!

Came here thinking I could do work since there was a ton of open seats and every “cafe” I’ve been to allows people to have laptops. They don’t have their menu or prices easily accessible online so I ended up paying $20 for a house salad. I finally sat down just for them to tell me that they don’t allow laptops or studying on “brunch weekends”. The lady who told me was really rude and no where was this policy online, otherwise I wouldn’t have come. Definitely didn’t think the food was worth the price and the experience I had with that woman left a bad taste in my mouth. I don’t plan on coming back and don’t recommend it here.

it’s crazy to me that a coffee shop would not offer wifi? i came specifically to do work and there’s no wifi, coffee isn’t good enough to bring me here on its own, won’t be back

I was at this AM at Amrita (May 13th) but the cafe was still closed for service. Went to a deli nearby and ordered a coffee and returned to sit on their outside chairs for a few moments with my friend visiting NY for the first time when the attendant/server came over to us, before openning the cafe and told us that these chairs were property of the cafe and we should move away. I live in the neighborhood.Amrita parks their chairs in OUR public street, no sign telling us anything about not using them and demands us to move away because we are sipping a coffee in their tables. They are not good neighbors. I will enquire if they have a permit to use our PUBLIC STREET for their business.
If I could give zero I would. Extremely rude, kicked me out because I was reading while drinking my to stay coffee and other people wanted to have food. Over priced, you have to wait 5 minutes at least because their drinks are insanely hot. Food is below-average and drinks are bad. The only good thing is its location since there isn’t another cafe close.
