This restaurant was extremely loud during my whole dinner visit. The TV above the bar was blaring, there was piped-in music at high volume and, as it was busy with a big birthday party near my table (that couldn't be avoided, but added to the diffuclty) I found it very difficult to enjoy my dinner and my conversation with my dining partner. I don't think I'll be back.

Excellent service, but I can't say the same about the food.
We ordered onion soup, pâté, branzino, a burger, and mussels.
The branzino was bad, and by bad I mean it smelled bad and tasted worse. We had to send it back.
As for the mussels, in my opinion, they were poorly prepared. They were submerged in butter. I’m not sure where in France they prepare them like this, but I've been there quite a few times, and I've never seen that.
The onion soup was very good, and the pâté was average.
I can't consider it good French food.

Had a fabulous brunch here last weekend with a friend, love this place, the decor, the food, the light it’s just a solid spot! Staff is super helpful and sweet. Food is top, I had the French burger and it was spectacular, I plan on becoming a regular here! Bravo!

Went there after loosing my driving licence. It was a relief.
Ordered paté de campagne, coq au vin for 2 (which is large enough). My wife took a crème brûlée and I got the mousse au chocolat. Both were great but the mousse au chocolat deserves more than a 5/5, more like a 7,5/5. Got 2 spritz that are well dosed ??
Can only recommend for any French looking for food from la mère patrie.

This is an*exceptional* French restaurant!! We were a party of 6 and sampled each other's dishes. Favorites include Saumon, Onion Soup, Croquet Madame, Heshie (short rib and mashed potato in a skillet). Everything delicious. Service amazing. Hope to return many times.

Cafe De Soleil has always been a favorite UWS restaurant of mine. When I need a place to have a bite with friends or celebrate a special occasion, it is always at the top of my list.
The food is consistently good, service is warm and friendly and the ambience is charming and very French!!! I am a big fan of their Short Rib w/ Mash Potatoes and Pan Fried Trout dishes.
Also, I must mention that the burgers and garlic fries are really good.
Highly recommend ............

The omelette was overcooked there was no ratatouille, but you never remembered you don't offer vegetable milks and the food is overpriced.. the experience was not remotely French. The eggs were tasteless and I will not be going back to this restaurant
Excellent food, great service, great ambience. We sat outside and had outstanding service. Happy hour is also excellent with great drink deals. One of our go-to restaurants in the neighborhood. No matter what you're eating, get the fries- they are the best (our French family members agree).
This is still a neighborhood gem but I was a little disappointed with the food. Maybe it's because it was brunch? Dinner always seems to be better quality food. The service was great and ambiance always lovely on a summer fall day. I'll probably go back for dinner at some point and give it another go.
