Had a nice dinner here recently. Party of six and we were able to get in around 6:30 on a Friday with only a 30-min wait. It’s a small place and the menu was also limited. Regardless we were all able to find something, including the vegetarian with us. Food atmosphere and staff were good.
Vegetarian options: There was a vegetarian couscous entree
Some friends and I went to this place for dinner last night. And I don't recommend anything we ate last night, it was: hummus, salmon, meat balls, and couscous. None of this had flavor, not even salt.

Today I decided to try this place for a late lunch. I arrived at 3:00 and ordered after waiting 15 minutes. There were only two other table in the restaurant. An additional 30 minutes passed and I never even received my drink. I asked for it from a different server than I originally had (mine was too busy massaging the other servers and sitting on the stools looking at her phone). This server then came over and asked if I ordered food because the other server didn’t even put it in the computer. I can’t even figure out if there’s a manager in this place, everyone is too busy hanging around, so I decided to write something here. Hopefully whoever owns this place will realize it’s a free for all in here and do something about it. To top it off the meatball tagine was cold when I finally received it. When I asked a server passing by who the manager is here I was told it was actually my original server- what a joke. They heated up my dish and it came back burnt. I will not be back.

The dish called Moroccan Couscous as discribed, pictured and published is not, nor even similsr to actyal Moroccan Couscous in any fashion and bith insulting and misleading.
Just Google it, this dish is not a hot bowl of semolina, steamed and covered in a sauce and meats and vegetables. It us Morocco's national dish.
I am hoping it is a printing/photo glitch. Either way fix it.

I initially left a 2-star review because of a bad experience from a previous visit but am updating it to 5 stars due to the outstanding service I received at Café Gitane. Olivia, who served us, demonstrated exceptional knowledge of the menu and went above and beyond to accommodate my nephew’s severe nut allergy. Her professionalism and care truly set a high standard. Thank you, Olivia, for making our visit memorable!
