4/5 food was great, desserts didn't match what was on the website nor did the drinks.
I was a solo diner this last Saturday night at Lafayette. While it was crowded, they nonetheless gave me a very pleasant table. It was crowded. The food, as usual, was excellent. I had the frisee salad, which I always enjoy, and the trout. Very tasty.
I always have a great experience at Lafayette — be it a breakfast mtg, brunch/lunch or dinner. Thanks Lafayette!
We had a wonderful brunch at Lafayette. This is one of my favorite brunch spots in the city. Our server was wonderful and attentive! The vibe and the ambiance are so chic! 10/10
We were all very disappointed at our experience at Lafayette. The service was abominable. We were ignored the entire time. The food was incredibly mediocre. We have been here before-but this experience was nowhere like what we had experienced in the past. We took a vote after the meal and decided it wasn't worth coming back here again.
Lafayette in New York never disappoints! I first visited with my girlfriends for my birthday, and this time, I went with my family—it was just as wonderful. The ambiance is warm and inviting, the service is excellent, and the food is absolutely delicious. Every dish is beautifully presented and full of flavor. Whether for a special occasion or a casual outing, Lafayette is always a great choice. Highly recommend!
Nice atmosphere - had the short rib burger which was very good and came with a huge basket of excellent skinny fries.
Lafayette used to be one of our favorite places for a NYC breakfast or brunch but the quality has gone down dramatically. Our waiters, while super nice, were swamped and our food took forever to arrive- and it arrived cold. Cold omelet with a cold price of ham shoved on top at the last moment, cold oatmeal- yuck, underdone, not-crispy potatoes. The famous Lemon-Ricotta pancakes were still delicious but the portion was tiny- come on dudes, it's flour and water- throw the customers a bone and add another flapjack. Anyway, thoroughly disappointed the past few times we visited and will look for another “favorite” spot going forward. Sad but true.
Food is delicious. Can’t wait to go back.
The food was delicious and served quickly, too quickly in fact, we felt a bit pushed. Also disappointed that the goods from the bakery were not available at the table as we would have like to have one of their fancy filled croissants for dessert.

I rarely give bad reviews on opentable, but our dinner experience Saturday night was sub par. The hostess refused to sit us at a table set for 3 in the corner, saying it was reserved. No one sat at that table all night. Instead she filled the tables all around us, leaving us feeling crowded in an otherwise nearly empty reatuarnt. My husband's risotto was watery. My duck had cocktail cherries from a jar on top. The decaf coffee tasted burned and left a ring of grounds around the cup. Our waitress - who was efficient -- brought me another coffee, but it was watery. We have always frequented this restaurant before shows at The Public, but I'm afraid we won't be going back anytime soon. Oh, did I mention it was my birthday?
Chris, the sommelier, was serving us because the restaurant was short staffed. He was extremely friendly and attentive. He knew the food menu just as well as the wines. We enjoyed everything we had, from the escargot to the Mille-feuille. A really nice evening.
Great place for brunch and oh! the bakery (but you can't order from your table, you'll need to get on the sometimes very long line to make a purchase). Everything is delicious but the menu is not particularly extensive and not vegetarian friendly - although the staff is happy to make alterations to a dish to accommodate a vegetarian. Love the room itself
The server was rather rude the entire meal. The food was excellent. The drinks were well done. But the server was slow, didn't seem like he wanted to be there. I'm not looking for service with a smile, but not even a polite attitude was there. Very disappointing.
Lovely outdoor seating. Food tasty and beautifully presented. Not rushed. Pretty trees around perimeter of outdoor area. An occasional fire engine whizzing past. This is NYC. I would recommend this restaurant. I come as often as possible. I'm never disappointed.
