delicious cobb, love their dressing! french onion soup great on a cold day, the frisse with lardon delicious. the baked goods also over the top great
Bread and coffee were excellent but eggs were inedible. Service was great but I will not be returning as the food was a huge disappointment
Overall, I was deeply disappointed by the experience at this establishment. While the server was courteous, we endured an excessively long wait of over an hour for a simple burger, oysters, and a croque madame. Furthermore, my friend's egg was prepared incorrectly, resulting in a subpar meal. Despite our extended wait, we were only offered a platter of pastries after we had already begun consuming our food. Additionally, the first bottle of champagne we ordered arrived lukewarm and of poor quality. I understand that the weather was favorable on that day and that the establishment was likely experiencing high demand, but the tables surrounding us were receiving food and service throughout our entire experience, many of which were occupied before we arrived. This situation significantly diminished the enjoyment of our friend gathering. As a result, I would not recommend returning to this establishment and would advise others to seek alternative brunch options in New York City, as there are numerous more suitable establishments available.
Winnie was fantastic. She made us feel very welcome and went out of her way to help at every location of the restaurant
The French Onion soup was exceptional and the burger with frites was outstanding. The atmosphere and service at the bar made for a perfect evening. Don't miss the Pain de Campagne when you start.
Toms of waiters yet no one doing anything. All the tables around us were confused because no one was taking orders. Food coming out before a drink was even served. Food was fine but overly priced and small portions. The “salad” with the food was a piece of lettuce just don't put anything on the plate at that point. Won't be back and won't recommend.
We received a warm greeting and since we arrived early for our reservation was shown to the bar where we had fabulous drinks. When our table was ready, we were seated promptly. Our waiter was friendly, but not attentive, although the restaurant is beautifully decorated and comfortable the food was subpar. The halibut at $46 was overcooked. My husband ordered the fettuccine which was cold and overcooked rather than have dessert. We had a bakery item from their selection and that was very good. The prices were typical for Manhattan however I expected a lot more from this restaurant.
We usually have dinner at Lafayette. This time, we had breakfast. While the food was good, the bill came to $145 for 3 people, after tax and service. I think it's a bit excessive for a breakfast.
Great overall! We sat outside and enjoyed the adorable patio w/autumn decorations. The interior was nice too. The food was great - loved the salmon Benedict. The spiral crossaint (which has to be ordered at the counter — this didn't make sense to me) was amazing!
Pretty atmosphere whether outside or in. Our food was delicious. The service was just right !
Restaurantji Recommends
It's was the worst of the worst Fench restaurant I've ever been in, First the appetizer wasn't all that bad but the entree was Tje bad and my wife was quite ill after her meal ? I will highly not recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy!
The service was stellar. Food was great. Ambience was casually elegant with a European flair
We had an amazing time at Lafayette. The food was delicious, especially the trout and the burger. Deserts were also insanely good as most of the pastries are made in house. But what elevated the entire dining experience was our phenomenal server Ana. She went above and beyond to make sure we had a 5 star afternoon . Thank you. Cannot recommend enough.
We are never disappointed when we go to Lafayette. The food is always good, the service is excellent and the ambiance is lovely.
everything was lovely but our waiter really seemed more interested in a seemingly VIP table than ours
