I'm french and I went there for the first time in 1998 as a 9y.o boy with my parents during the Halloween season. We're in 2024 and this Cafe is exactly like in my souvenir. The waffle I ate as a boy never left me.
Fun fact, I've always kept a piece of this Cafe in my room at my parents house. I cut it from a plastic bag, back in 98. Still there, and it never faded, neither on my wall nor in my heart.

We visited this iconic cafe on 83rd Street in New York City for its famous baked goods, including cakes, pies, tarts, and sweet desserts. This cafe became famous after being featured in the movie You've Got Mail, starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. We ordered cheesecake and coffee and enjoyed them thoroughly, especially on a rainy day. The cafe was cozy, decorated with many objects and posters, and crowded when we visited.

Google claims that Cafe Lalo is open, as does their voicemail when you call, but it is currently CLOSED for renovations. We drove all the way to Manhattan after calling and found it closed ?
